Zambia is facing a severe power shortage, with citizens enduring up to 21 hours a day without electricity. BBC's Kennedy Gondwe reports that this is severely affecting livelihoods in the country. Ongoing droughts in Southern Africa have drastically reduced energy production.
Minister of Energy has announced that the country will now stabilise electricity supply to at least 3 hours per day. This comes a day after Maamba Collieries resumed normal operation and the fixing of the interconnector between Zambia and Namibia.
