@AlMayadeenNews@s_m_marandi Russia has launched a war of aggression against the Ukrainian people, who have been fighting for over four years against a dictator under whom they do not wish to live. Why is Iran supporting these aggressors by supplying drones?
Speaking to Al Mayadeen on Monday, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that when #Iran says it will not negotiate, “it does not negotiate.”
He added that Iran has made it clear that if the United States carries out an attack on Iran, despite #Trump's previous threats being followed by retreats on several occasions, Tehran’s response would be “devastation", retaliation, and a decisive response.
Professor Marandi stressed that regardless of future developments, Iran currently has no interest whatsoever in negotiating with the United States.

THE YEN CARRY TRADE IS BACK IN FOCUS.
USD/JPY has fallen from nearly 164 to around 155-157 in just days.
This is a huge move for the FX market.
Japan and the US have stepped in with a rare coordinated yen intervention, with reports suggesting around ¥8.45 trillion ($52.8B) was used to support the currency.
Why does this matter?
For years, investors borrowed cheap yen and used that liquidity to buy risk assets like stocks and crypto.
Now that trade is being challenged.
A stronger yen can force leveraged traders to reduce positions, creating volatility across global markets.
This does NOT mean Bitcoin has to go lower.
But whenever global liquidity starts shifting, Bitcoin usually reacts.
The key level to watch:
If USD/JPY continues falling, expect more volatility across risk assets.
This is one of the biggest macro stories to watch right now.
The US and Israel are currently funding a massive migrant scheme by flooding Spain with migrants from Morocco. This is in retaliation for Spain denying Israel and the US access to their airspace to target Iran. (ALSO: Elon will use this as 'anti-white colonization propaganda).
Yes, we are past the point of no return.
When debt service payments squeeze out spending, it is like plaque in the circulatory system squeezing out the flow of blood. It is the same kind of thing, and it can be measured. We are seeing that happen right now.
There is also a supply and demand issue. A budget deficit means that debt has to be sold. We can see this happening in the bond market—bonds have been a bad investment, and there is pressure on interest rates and borrowing.
This dynamic is happening, but people are treating it like it hasn't happened before. They don't understand that, just like plaque in the arteries, the debt builds up and they have that exposure.
OH boy... The joint US/Japan yen intervention is still ongoing.
It's because the US has to bail out Japan. Japan is the largest foreign holder of US Treasuries and the primary funding source of the yen carry trade.
The BoJ doesn't act independently:
- 30.07: BoJ intervenes in the yen.
- 31.07: BoJ holds rates steady.
- 31.07: Bessent joins.
Why announce that Bessent joined the intervention?
To calm the markets.... Previous BoJ interventions didn't work.
Now they're telling us the interventions are still ongoing... again to calm the markets.
Rate hikes would threaten the yen carry trade and force hedge funds to unwind positions, selling US assets... especially US Treasuries.
If Japan defended the yen on its own, it would likely have to sell more US Treasuries.
By joining the intervention, Bessent takes some of that selling pressure off the Treasury market and shifts it toward the EUR.
This has to continue for as long as the war goes on.... And the longer it lasts, the more pressure points emerge.
