As of today, December 23, 2025 Abu Trica appeared in the Gbese District Court in Accra for the initial hearing in his US extradition proceedings.
He arrived under heavy security, accompanied by associates including Daniel Yussif (or Lord Eshun) and Bernard Aidoo, who also faced related appearances.
Abu Trica was represented by a large legal team (reports mention up to nine lawyers). The session marked the formal start of the extradition process following his December 11 arrest in Ghana on a US indictment alleging involvement in a romance scam network that defrauded elderly Americans of over $8 million using AI-generated fake identities.
No final decision on extradition was reported from today's proceedings; the case is ongoing, with further hearings expected. Videos from the court arrival circulated widely on social media, showing tight security measures.
