@BrianZahnd Is it not true that both pagans and materialists are demonically deceived and that biblical faith (I don't know about "Christians") is quite different from both? I agree, however, that biblical faith has more in common with worldviews that are not confined to the material.
"The Bible tells us to fear two things: God and nothing." --@calebwilds in #messygrace
So, if you had no fear, who would you get to know or what would you attempt for God?
"We must embrace the world because Christ embraces the world, and Christ has come to us, and Christ in us embraces the world." --Roland Allen (1868-1947)
I hear the sponsors of the #hegetsus campaign are catching some flak for spending money on Super Bowl ads. Sort of reminds me of Judas Iscariot's criticism of Mary for annointing Jesus with expensive perfume (John 12:1-7). Do we think God is going to run out of money?
@BonyT48455127@ferrismattic Some might take this to mean that linguistic and cultural diversity are contrary to the will of God; that the Gospel eliminates them. Careful. Diversity would have been inevitable if people had obeyed God's command to fill the earth. God desires a diverse and unified people.
@emilykmay Yes, Church of Christ, but I didn't hear it in church. Can't remember where I first heard it but I've studied for and served cross-culturally, so it's been a category for a long time.
