My 2026 has been crazy ๐คฏ
๐ฃ My son was born in January
๐ Launched first SaaS in April (CRM)
๐ Did 100 cold calls => $0 MRR (crowded niche)
โ ๏ธ Killed the CRM and built 4 iOS apps
๐ต First dollar in June.
๐ experimented AND succeeded with ASO / SEO / AEO / AI vids / social growth
๐ฐ $1K MRR in September!
๐ฆ Iโve been sharing my journey on X
In the mean time learning a ton about marketing + psychology ๐
Chasing my dreams has been the best thing Iโve ever done ๐ฅ
Excited for what 2027 will bring ๐
If youโre an indie hacker, letโs link up! ๐
As a developer, I can tell you this straight up - I do not want to build a SaaS everytime I need a service.
Maybe over the long run. But I want to work on my products, not spend 2 weeks building something that takes me away from my product.
So yeah, SaaS is not dead. It's just more available.
Trust me, after you build your fifth or sixth SaaS, you'd rather just pay somebody to do XYZ for you rather than keep building more. You want to focus on the marketing, etc.
Iโm going to see if I can move the functional aspect onto a web app, so people can use the web app OR the phone app. That way some of the money wonโt be thieved off of me.
Just learnt about the difference between revenue and proceeds and ready to end my career as an indie hacker
I knew there was the 15% App Store fees, not that there were additional costs on top of that.
And on top of that, I pay a bunch in corporation tax etc.
From $1351 revenue I am seeing about $412 in profit.
Itโs so over.
@edwin1@0xIQzz Honestly you got a quality app man, good on you. How do you do your testing for each new feature or map etc you release? Just winging it with Claude?
The indie dev world is unfortunately not built for people who want slow, sustainable growth. Almost everything rewarded online is about explosive launches, and that pressure is exhausting.
The strongest signal of progress is honest tracking.
Builders who share real numbers, even the ugly ones, move faster than those chasing optics.
The most useful updates are the ones that show what broke.

@frederickjames Itโs fine, it gets a bunch of followers that get you a bit of credibility โ> you can pull that into doing more MOFU or LOFU videos
Seems I am making money for everybody except myself. What a scam. Why would anybody try to run a business, easier to just go on benefits for being dyslexic or something.
