If you look in Europe the romance alphabet is used everywhere, but the pronunciation of sounds differ from language to language because it’s not a 1:1 mapping

@CANClPlN @Misaki31597012 Writing systems don’t necessarily correlate to the language spoken! Generally they’re imported in/implemented as policy changes but the language existed before it. Japanese Kanji and the Chinese writing system overlaps but Japanese is linguistically isolated.
