Described as one of the pillars which highlife music was built on, Nana Kwame Ampadu was a Ghanaian music legend, a cultural activist, and a lyrical genius.
He died on the morning of September 28th, 2021.
May his soul rest in perfect peace 🕊
From the most recent Open Jam Session, we were joined by certain new faces.
One of which was Yaayra
Although not a practicing artist, she shared with us some beautiful sounds of soul.
Focus on @tommywatomiwa , an amazing Nigerian Afro-Indie-folk singer who been one of our most regular participant.
His passion for the music comes through in every session, and he’s a great team player.
Hi guys,
Hope you’re having a great evening
On Saturday the 26th, we hosted our very first “Open House Session” in a long while at our new home here in Kokrobite
Space certainly does affect an artist's output, and we got to experience for the first time what that was like.
Hello, world.
Technology plays an important role in our work, via technology we’ve been able to consistently provide the space and means by which artists can add to their work.
And we’re glad to be able to keep doing so.
Thank you Chimah for this amazing gift.
“With a Loop Station, you can plug in a guitar, mic, or other instrument, record a loop on the spot, and then use it as accompaniment for further live playing and/or singing. You can also overdub new performances while the loop plays, a feature also known as “sound-on-sound”
It’s not simply about capturing voices, but encouraging expressionism, molding character, and most importantly sharing information on the latest musical tools and techniques.
During the session, we encouraged the artists to also man the equipment, familiarise themselves with the recording process, and hopefully take the knowledge on to new heights.
On OPEN HOUSE our space and equipment are available free of charge.
In support of young, independent artists we aim to create access to resources facilitating band rehearsal, solo practice, producing and recording sessions.
Meet Chima. Our first beneficiary 🔥🔥🔥
