I had a great time presenting research at the International Celiac Disease Symposium.
Read a recap on the research—one poster on the variety of #celiacdisease symptoms and another on dis/satisfaction with the #glutenfree diethttps://www.beyondceliac.org/celiac-news/icds-2022/
Curious about the roles of genetic testing and biopsies in diagnosing celiac disease? Stop by the free, virtual Town Hall on Nov 3. Dr. Ben Lebwohl, MD and Dr. Ritu Verma, MD, will answer your questions on the topic! https://t.co/BJnJSS2PO5
Thank you team Allero Therapeutics for a wonderful #glutenfree evening. And, many thanks for a lively conversation and your dedication to our community. @beyondceliac#celiac
#glutenfree food in Italy is also sold in pharmacies. Here they recognize that for #celiac it is the equivalent of a prescription and government subsidies offset the increased cost. We are so behind in the US!!
Dr. Hoggart at #ICDS202: could progressive white matter disease be a neurological underpinning of cognitive and mental health symptoms in people with #celiac? @BeyondCeliac
Thrilled to speak on the patient's perspective on understanding the symptoms of #celiacdisease at the #ICDS2022. Thanks to our community for filling out @BeyondCeliac surveys!
I'm proud to say I'll be presenting research at the International Celiac Disease Symposium this week on behalf of the @BeyondCeliac team, who has done some pretty great work!
I recently spoke with someone with #celiacdisease who wasn’t getting better on the #glutenfree diet. While talking, they realized they had accidentally been eating gluten! So, heads up, some hidden sources of gluten include soy sauce, soup mixes, gravy mixes and meat substitutes.
I’m so happy to report the success of the October Step Beyond Celiac 5K—we were able to raise $127,000 for #celiacdisease research! Thank you to everyone who participated. https://t.co/lvwHhLKKGM
A @BeyondCeliac survey revealed 9.5% of our community have no #celiacdisease symptoms. While it can be nice not to have symptoms, it also means you don’t know if or when you eat gluten. Annual blood tests are especially important for these folks! https://t.co/AxUn0vfP1c
Researchers are making a case to think of Alzheimer’s as an autoimmune disease and not a neurodegenerative one. This could open up new avenues for treating AD. https://t.co/9fmOeMjxSn
Scientists have made a microbiome from scratch! The microbiome is such a complex ecosystem that is critical to our health, and now scientists could more easily study it. I’m excited for the groundbreaking research and results to come! https://t.co/oHBNdw2oHt
Many think #celiacdisease symptoms are limited to GI issues—not true! More than 50% of patients have neurological effects, including migraines, poor balance and even seizures. We need to know how CD affects the brain. Help us help researchers by donating https://t.co/Y6ihYpjw8g
