Statue of Emperor Hadrian from Pamphylia
Period: 117-138 AD, 2nd century
This marble statue depicts the Roman Emperor Hadrian in an idealized form and was unearthed from the southern baths of the ancient city of Perge. Hadrian visited the Pamphylia region in 130 AD. The people of Perge erected numerous statues in his honor to commemorate this visit. This artifact, located in the Antalya Museum in Türkiye, is one of the best-preserved of those statues.
