We're excited to see @abb48ca's efforts to redesign the flag request system in Congress adopted in the @ModernizeCmte's new list of bipartisan recommendations!
Flag "pizza tracker" gets a shout-out by the @ModernizeCmte chair @RepDerekKilmer ... massive kudos to the @MSA_CapHill that has been working behind the scenes to push for tech that would save countless staff & intern hours https://t.co/12k1qzu65u
.@abb48ca will be the patron saint of all junior staffers w/ work through @MSA_CapHill w/ @codeforamerica to modernize the CRAZY process for flag requests/delivery that every congressional office spends countless hours coordinating #hackwetrust22
No Hill staffer should be paid less than the living wage.
@_cpsa_'s survey results on working conditions and @IssueOneReform's report on junior staffers' salaries demonstrates the need for further reforms to improve the professional and personal lives of junior staffers.
@SenateSAA requests staffers' participation in a survey to help gauge interest in potential improvements to the flag ordering process.

Exciting news! Last week, @SenateSAA announced they are building an advisory group to improve the flag ordering process, citing MSA in its background.
Thank you to MSA's flag reform working group, including @MikaelTessema, Shoshana Leviton, and Anna Whitney!

Pay on the Hill is notoriously low at all levels, and raising wages across the board is critical for attracting and retaining talent. But there are staffers making $30k in one of the most expensive cities in the US. Public service is a privilege not many people can afford.
Snaps for standard onboarding training, HIR reforms, and better communications b/w constituents and their reps! However, we'd love to see a salary floor for junior staff that is mandatory instead of voluntary.
