Let me first correct a perception that people have about these prayers. Many people treat "Shaf'" as if it is a completely independent prayer with its own special status separate from Qiyam al-Layl. The word "Shaf'" just means "even" in Arabic.
Every single two-unit prayer you perform during your night worship is technically a shaf'. There is no separate intention or unique format for it. You are just praying in pairs of two.
As regards the best timing, the ideal approach is to make Witr, which means "odd" in Arabic, the very last prayer of your night.
If you have the discipline and confidence that you will wake up in the deep part of the night for Qiyam, you should delay your Witr. You wake up, pray your sets of two units (what you know as Shaf’), and then crown the whole night with that single odd unit of Witr.
But if you are tired and fear that sleep might win, the safer option is to pray some two-unit sets and your Witr right after Isha before going to bed.
If you still manage to wake up later in the night for Qiyam, you can go ahead and pray more pairs of two. You just will not repeat the Witr, because there is no double Witr in one night.
Allah knows best.
To understand who Muhammad ﷺ truly was, look at how people felt in his presence.
He brought calm into restless hearts and warmth into every home he entered. His smile was constant, gentle, and sincere. People felt safe around him. Seen. Valued.
He never insulted anyone.
Never humiliated anyone.
Never made someone feel small.
His words carried kindness. His actions carried mercy.
When people wronged him, he didn’t seek revenge. He answered harm with forgiveness, generosity, and goodness. Strength, for him, was not domination, it was mercy.
He honored every blessing from Allah, no matter how small. He never criticized food. Never complained about provision. Gratitude shaped the way he lived.
Despite being the greatest of creation, he was the first to give salam.
When someone spoke, he turned his entire body toward them and listened fully, whether they were powerful or poor, known or unknown. No one ever felt invisible in his presence.
He lived simply.
He served his family.
He never struck a woman in his entire life.
Those who sat with him felt dignity, respect, and peace.
Today, influence is often built by creating insecurity and comparison. But Rasulullah ﷺ built hearts. He lifted people up, strengthened their souls, and reminded them that their worth comes from their relationship with Allah , not from the approval of the world.
He didn’t just teach kindness.
He was kindness.
May Allah fill our hearts with love for Rasulullah ﷺ and allow his character to live through our words, our actions, and the way we treat others.
Muslims on my TL should save and watch this video every time you’re feeling down.
The part I found most striking is where he said:
“You’ll run just like animals run in the wild and you will still not get more than what I originally allocated to you.”
Imagine you are a Muslim and a child asks you: Why do we pray Dhuhr and Asr silently while we recite aloud in Maghrib and Isha
(And you don't know the answer)
Innalillahi wa Inna ilaihi Raji'un 😭
He is no longer in this world 🥹♥️ Please let him continue earning good deeds by reposting his video ♥️🥹 May Allah have mercy on him. 🤲

The atmosphere at the Holy Kaaba as Sheikh Abdurahman Sudais led the Tahajjud prayer. What a serenity and devotion as hundreds of thousands of hearts stood in worship, hoping to witness the mercy and blessings of Laylatul Qadr. 🤲🏽🕋
