A prominent regional leader with significant public support is facing severe isolation from the public sphere under extraordinary circumstances. This situation arises from his unwavering opposition to political injustice and his steadfast advocacy for the rule of law.

To uphold democratic principles, foreign correspondents, human rights observers, and international news organizations must be granted unrestricted access to Imran Khan’s detention. Additionally, they should be assured of a fair trial.

It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.

I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.

But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.

I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.

اس وقت ہمارا پیارا آزاد کشمیر جل رہا ہے۔ راولاکوٹ سمیت مختلف اضلاع میں ہزاروں شہری اپنے جائز مطالبات لے کر دھرنے میں بیٹھے ہیں، لیکن حکومت نے مذاکرات کے بجائے طاقت کا اندھا استعمال کیا، جس کے نتیجے میں پولیس اہلکاران سمیت متعدد قیمتی جانیں ضائع ہو چکی ہیں۔
عوام شدید دکھی اور معاشی ناکہ بندی کا شکار ہے۔ جس طرح یہاں عوامی آواز کو دبا کر بنیادی حقوق پامال کیے جا رہے ہیں، اس سے صاف عیاں ہے کہ آزاد کشمیر کو مقبوضہ کشمیر بنانے کی کوشش کی جا رہی ہے۔ ہم بیس کیمپ کی آئینی پہچان پر یہ حملہ کبھی قبول نہیں کریں گے۔
جب عوام سڑکوں پر ہوں، تو اقتدار کا کھیل رچانا جمہوریت کی توہین ہے۔ لہٰذا، پی ٹی آئی اس انتخابی عمل کا حصہ نہیں بنے گی۔ ہم الیکشن نہیں لڑیں گے بلکہ اپنے عوام کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوں گے۔ جب تک جوائنٹ عوامی ایکشن کمیٹی (JAAC) کے جائز اور آئینی مطالبات منصفانہ طور پر حل نہیں ہوتے، ہم عوام کی صفوں میں کھڑے رہیں گے
