Don’t play politics with the El-Rufai mourning phase.

Many of these individuals were absent when Mallam was arrested, either for him or his family. They never voiced their support for Mallam or worked underground for his release. If this were not a political season, most of them would not be present.

Some are there for the cameras, and their presence will fade after the dust settles.

The loss of a parent and loved one is immeasurable.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF LOSS AND TRIBUTE

It is with profound sorrow and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that we announce the passing of Arc. Irfan Sunusi Gumbi, one of the founding members and a former Member of the Board of Trustees of the Society for Drug Abuse Enlightenment and Control (SODAEC). He passed away on 17th February, 2026, in Cairo, following an illness.

Though he transitioned from his formal role in 2017 to pursue other endeavors, Arc. Irfan never truly left SODAEC. His vision, sacrifices, counsel, and foundational contributions remain etched into the very fabric of our organization. The structure we stand on today bears the imprint of his commitment, intellect, and unwavering belief in a drug-free and enlightened society. His legacy is not in titles held, but in values instilled and systems built.

Arc. Irfan was more than a colleague; he was a builder of ideas, a voice of reason, and a quiet pillar of strength in our formative years. His dedication during SODAEC’s early days helped shape the mission that continues to guide us.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife and their two children. May they find strength in the noble legacy he leaves behind and comfort in the knowledge that he lived a life of purpose and impact.

Our thoughts and prayers also go to his entire family, especially his dear mother. No grief compares to that of a mother losing her child. We pray that Almighty Allah grants her the fortitude to bear this painful loss and envelops the family in His mercy and peace.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un” — To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, expand his grave with light, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

Arc. Irfan Sunusi Gumbi may have departed from this world, but his impact endures. His contributions will forever remain part of SODAEC’s story.

HISTORIC COMMISSIONING OF THE FIRST EVER LNG/L-CNG HUB IN KATSINA STATE BY GREENVILLE LNG

On Thursday, the 12th of February 2026, I had the privilege of witnessing the commissioning of the first ever LNG/L-CNG Hub in Katsina State that’s designed to expand access to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in regions like ours without active pipeline connectivity. The hub forms part of @greenvillelng’s second-phase expansion and diversification strategy, aimed at deepening gas penetration across Nigeria in alignment with the Federal Government’s Presidential Decade of Gas Initiative.
The project supports the Administration of His Excellency @dikko_radda’s broader agenda on energy diversification, economic revitalisation, security enhancement, and sustainable development.
