I found it interesting when Zizek raised the question about private property and "how to maintain the form of (private) property, within which the logic of profit can be maintained?" #RHEADD
Day's article raises the idea that, its harder to logoff than we think. Though she proposes a different behavioral paradigm for those that are logged on, I think if I was to try to log off I would constantly fear that I was missing out. #RHEADD
In Fong's article they talk about a study that found empathy levels among college students have lowered 40% compared to 20 years ago. I agree with her that this has to due with "media use in everyday life." Constant social media usage has desensitized much of our world.#RHEADD
In Malmgren's article, the statement "platform capitalism thrives at the expense of public discourse, and its monarchs are more entrenched than ever" was very eyeopening to me. #RHEADD
@Shelby52840404 This could be an alliteration by saying how we see a "continuous commonality and connection in the Internet ads that we see." #alliteration
@daisyw98 I found your twitter thread to be very interesting as you used your own life experiences to explain the Digital Divide. I think this will make a very good final paper if you include some concrete facts along with your personal experiences.
@Sometimesvanes1 I like how you touched on how resources need to be given to areas that dont have Internet access. I think you could include how gender influences the divide and talk more about some of your own experiences that have helped you better understand the digital divide.
@Shelby52840404 I like the way you compared the Internet to a library and Internet ads to dating. I think this is something you could really expand on in your final paper. In addition, i think you could put more emphasis on the divide between technology and the people that use it.
@UTMeredithH Your twitter thread is very strong. You did a good job of incorporating how location, age, gender, and race influence the Digital divide. I think this would be a great way to separate your paper, buy going into detail on how each of those influence the divide.
@rheaddavinash You have made a good point here. It is important that we as an internet community are aware that discrimination is still present and we should do everything we can to eliminate it.
