@oli_m_sims Oli I’m so sorry, I haven’t met anyone whose worked harder for it than you— the system is a joke. Go abroad. The NHS does not deserve your time/ effort/ youth.
"We did what we could. Remember us.”These are the words Dr Mahmoud Abu Nujaila wrote on a #Gaza hospital whiteboard normally used for planning surgeries at the end of October 2023.
My dad was a house officer in 1991, his take home pay was £1500.
My F1 take-home pay in 22/23 never got above £2100.
Absolutely staggering, literally mirrors that relative drop in pay by approximately 1/4-1/3.
@Anaes_Trainees ‘Anaesthetist’+ then ‘anaesthetic consultant’- when I get introduced as a trainee, patients go ‘that’s fine everyone has to learn’ when I do the cannula….. 😕 I’m CT3, I’ve been a doctor for six years …..
@GasNovice I’ve been asked to leave that office before when doing pre-ops for the CEPOD pts in front of the board at the end of a night shift. Despite there being 7 unused computers in the room at the time. Cool we’ll just delay the emergency cases then? It’s TOXIC.
@ADigitalWitch@Doc_IonaCollins I think comparisons can be helpful to ensure people are paid fairly for the work they do and responsibility they have. It’s not about disrespecting roles. Doctors just want equal pay for equal work/ responsibilities— which often is not happening when compared to other roles
