On October 7, Angelyn Aguirre, 32, a newlywed Filipina, was living in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where she worked as the caregiver of 86-year-old Nira Ronen.

When Hamas terrorists infiltrated the kibbutz, Angelyn had a chance to escape, but she refused to leave Nira behind. Instead, she helped her into the safe room, where they hid until both were brutally murdered by Hamas.

Hamas spared no one on October 7. They murdered children, the elderly, the disabled, Israelis, Jews, Muslims, and foreigners alike. They killed everyone.

“In her last message, she told us the gunmen had arrived and that she was scared,” said Wilma, Angelyn’s older sister. “What happened to my sister is so painful.”

After seven years working as a caregiver in Israel, Angelyn had planned to return to the Philippines by the end of the year to start a family.

She leaves behind her husband, Nicolas, her parents, seven siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Angelyn was the embodiment of selflessness, courage, and loyalty.

May her memory forever be a blessing.
