Language lover who knows that words can both hurt and heal, fight battles and soothe wounds. Singer, writer, knitter, baker, Sondheim obsessive. She/her
@TinyWriterLaura Add in the fact that you can have several conditions with varying symptoms, but then have brand new symptoms that have zero to do with what you've already been diagnosed with - but medics often want to link it to what you already have, because there can't possibly be MORE!
Really grateful to @God_loves_women for her thorough commentary on the disappointingly poor report into Mike Pilavachi’s abuse. How will he ever be held accountable? Gutted.

@DeanaSpilletts1@Warwickshire_CC That’s the most non-apologetic apology I’ve read. Basically “I’m sorry you feel bad but I stand by what I’ve said and blame a document for my appalling views.” But I do love the claim that she’s using language from a report: “If I’m going down in taking everyone down with me…!”
Can we please drop the working people nonsense and start referring to ALL people. Not everyone can work for various reasons and unpaid carers more often than not are providing 90+ hours of care a week.
@warwickmansell - this might be of interest to you? Especially after the debacle of Warwickshire Country councillors’ comments on SEND (this is a WCC run school, not academy, rated outstanding by ofsted)
This is from a school local to me. Friends’ kids go here. I’m not sure I’d have done them the courtesy of anonymising it, seeing as they think it’s on to put on their website. TLDR, teacher shortages caused by special needs kids.
Just a reminder - this time next week (Tuesday 24 September, 1-3pm BST) is my seminar for church leaders who want to better minister to disabled people. Places are filling up fast! https://t.co/dcPsaTfAPA
@Shrink_at_Large I was in a dorm in 98 and it was hideous - made more so by there being a whole corridor of single rooms not being used. I hardly slept and I think I left iller than I went in. I didn’t know sexual assault was commonplace - thought I was the only one…
@EricRSammons I think you might want to check your use of the word ‘ancestors’ - it does not mean what you think it means, and just makes your tweet sound even more ridiculous.
@EtceteraMorris hi guys - I want to come to the 50th day of dance next month, could you send me the details? Mum has had an email but I haven’t, and I can’t work out another way to contact you 😁
Elon, forgive me, but there is no excuse for being such an utter berk about this. I’m white and a Christian. No one is chucking bricks at my church or telling me to go back to where I come from. I’m concerned about attacks on the communities that are actually *being* attacked.
We are delighted to reveal the cover for Banshee, a Cold War thriller by @Lins_Rumbold
Banshee is a dual timeline novel, weaving together events in 1964 and 2022 to answer the question:
Who is the body, and what really happened at RAF Martinford?
Released 14th September 2024.
@cllrhelencliff@PolitlcsUK I know! I actually sort of like this guy. It's such a shame that we didn't see more of this before - although I still abhor most of his policies, so voting wise it wouldn't have changed anything. But he's actually coming across as human for the first time in his visible career.
@RachelCDailey Or something that is a necessity, like my husband's wheelchair that he had to buy off eBay because he isn't eligible for an NHS one, so that he could retain his independence. And that's the issue - it's PERSONAL independence payment i.e. not identical for everyone...
@RachelReevesMP So what about people who can't work, who are too sick? Or the people who work bloody hard as unpaid carers, who save you millions? So far, all evidence suggests that they don't count as far as your government is concerned. They are vilified and deemed untrustworthy.
There will be women tonight dreading their partner coming home. Football does not cause domestic abuse, but it can become more frequent or severe after big games, with reporting increasing by 38% when England lose.
