Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Team Lead who can take ownership of our marketing direction, align a growing remote team, and help move the brand from awareness → trust → real adoption.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the realities of early-stage startups and can lead calmly through uncertainty while executing consistently. You will serve as both a strategic guide and an execution-focused leader, ensuring our marketing efforts remain human-centered, culturally aware, and impact-driven.

Key Responsibilities
•Own and drive the overall marketing strategy in alignment with UmojaCoin’s mission and growth stage
•Coordinate and align content, design, community, and advertising efforts into one clear direction
•Translate fintech and crypto concepts into simple, relatable messaging for everyday African users
•Lead and support a remote marketing team with empathy, clarity, and accountability
•Improve internal collaboration, workflows, and communication across the marketing function
•Represent the marketing team’s needs, challenges, and progress clearly to leadership
•Identify gaps, blockers, and opportunities, and proactively work through them
•Ensure messaging reflects a Pan-African perspective, respecting cultural nuances across regions

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements
• 4 years above experience in marketing
• Proven experience working in early-stage startups (especially with limited resources and slow initial traction)
•Strong understanding of fintech and/or cryptocurrency, with the ability to simplify complex ideas
•Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a marketing team
•Ownership mindset—someone who takes responsibility and drives execution
•High emotional intelligence and the ability to lead calmly under pressure
•Comfortable navigating uncertainty, rapid changes, and startup turbulence
•Strong understanding of African markets, cultures, and user behavior
