@kmatthews I define an influencer as a person or group who has a large following and has brand deals and profits money. They “influence”their fans to invest in certain products from particular brands. #SOJCssm

@kmatthews Once we stop having open conversation is when we will stop growing and learning. Cancel culture makes there no way for open and safe conversation. But Deplatforming a person in their economic and social entirety I think it’s not solving the problem. #sojcssm

@kmatthews I think it all depends on the company. Because certain brands lose large amounts of money because they do not abide with certain cancel culture so generally speaking I think it works. #sojcssm

@kmatthews She was just criticized. Because the aftermath of what cancel culture does did not take place with her. She still has a large following and large amounts of views. And when you have that large of the following its inevitable to not be criticized. #sojcssm

@kmatthews Yes. Cancel culture is creating more political polarization. When you take a closer look at who is actively doing the cancleing they may stem from a specific political party. Behind the canceling is a political ideology or agenda they are supporting. #sojcssm

@kmatthews Their audience is the people who get to decide. Since they’re the ones who are currently supporting the person. Mistakes and bad behavior should be called out. A call out can escalate easily depends on how the person responds and how gracious the audience reacts. #sojcssm

Being canceled on social media is the ending support for a particular person or group. This looks like a large amount of their following declines and they lose brand deals etc. Canceling someone has stemmed from cancel culture and has ended many careers. #sojcssm
