Training with the head coach of South Carolina. New skill today....he is newly 10...and a total beast getting after it. Such a joy to watch my kids do what they love.
Super happy about spending time in the sun with these two everyday. Proud of both of them- Luke is working this summer and teaching swim lessons, and K is putting in the work at gymnastics ( 3 hours!) And then diving( 2 hrs.) ( I am totally tired just typing that!)
Got to channel my inner art teacher today and taught the entire 1st grade about Kandinsky, then tied it to math, science, listening and literacy standards! They did amazing and then got to even tell about why they chose the colors they did and how it made them feel. Art matters!
It's down to the 10 day countdown for school and in first grade we have something special and fun to do for each day left. Today was change your name day- so I thought in honor of opening night at CTC, I would be Miss Nelson is missing! The show was wonderful as always- go see it
Southern writers contest award winner! Kael has a unique story to tell already about struggling at school/ putting his best effort in all he does- writing has not been a strength for him....but when he writes about something he is passionate about like homelessness, he likes it!
See that blur of black right there? That's my team. There were more, but this? This makes my heart explode. They were cheering on my youngest runner. This is what I love most. We were made for encouragement.....this makes me come completely alive as a champion for kids. Thankful.
My big! 8th grade semi formal and he also registered for high school classes this week. So so proud of him. This year has been such a JOY to watch him grow!
That's a wrap! Directing our Totally Tennessee first grade play was a success! 60 6 year olds doing the cotton eyed Joe and seeing them be sassy and sing loudly to Aretha Franklin's RESPECT was my favorite:)
The music gene completely skipped me. Meanwhile, my boys decided to serenade my dad by singing and playing happy birthday on four instruments tonight....always in awe of musicians....
Easter 2023. Husband is working today and has already had house fires and tons of medical calls...thankful for all who work every holiday! Beautiful time at church this morning, after spending time with my parents at the beach all week. Rich time resting/pausing over break...
Blessing upon blessing upon blessing in the minutes and hours and days that we get to spend with these two. What an honor it is to know them, love them, and be their daughter!
Completely in awe of my kids tonight. So proud of them in a thousand ways daily, but I love watching them gush joy especially with the things that make them come alive. Also, I really love having sporty and musical boys.
The rain cancelled track practice for me as the coach, no dive, and brother still got to go to dance classes. K and I came home and he jammed on the saxophone. I am proud of how determined this kid is!
Grading my bird beak reports in the back of the room while CCA middle and high schoolers are making MAGIC out of their voices as they rehearse for a concert on Thursday. Beautiful and so calming to my soul! @CenterforCreat1
