The graphic above captures the huge inequality between regions in Malaysia.

It becomes even more striking if we compare the income distributions for just KL and Kelantan (the states at the top and bottom).

Worlds apart.

Hence why - a 'B40 in KL' is a 'T10 in Kelantan'.

Today, DOSM @StatsMalaysia released 2022 Household Income Survey report. The last one was in 2019 (report in 2020).

There's so much good stuff, but my favourite is the percentile data on OpenDOSM.

Using that data, here's the income distribution across all states in Malaysia!
