MG writer, animal lover (give me all the books w talking animals!), host of the Mom Writes podcast, former art teacher, and community manager for HappyWriter
Things that made my week:
When the middle school librarian called me and randomly chatted about books for half an hour.
When my daughter panicked because she “didn’t have a book” so I handed her one from my nightstand she’d never read and she literally SIGHED WITH RELIEF. ❤️
@estywrites @2thestrugglebus I did a query class on Manuscript Academy & Julie mentioned prologues—she suggested holding it back when you submit your first 10 pages, but then insert it if you get asked for a full. Thoughts on that strategy? Although I’m sure it might be a call for the author to make 🤷🏻♀️
@LKLiterary This is one of the reasons whenever someone asks where I live and I say “Florida” I feel like I have to immediately follow it with “I’m sorry.”
A new year is a good time to review and reset--and keep going if what you're doing is exactly what you want to be doing. Like writing YA. 😊 Thank you for continuing to join @katiekeridan and me on our YA blog! Check out my latest post at https://t.co/mdCszbiQjZ
@michellehazen The worst things about QM are all the stories you make up about what’s happening behind the scenes once you dive into that Data Explorer button. 😂🫣🤓
@keslupo This is interesting because all I’ve heard FOR YEARS is that an agent won’t pick you up if you don’t have a polished, finished, developmentally edited and revised MS. Sooooo… not true? 🫣
@michellehazen This is an @melwrites5 post if I’ve ever seen one.
Wait. That is Mel Parish’s handle, right? If not, maybe that Mel also has a plant obsession…
