[FULL STATEMENT] Gold Medalist: The Truth Has Finally Been Proven Through Law and Investigation
“Hello. This is Gold Medalist.
We would like to inform you of the following regarding the multiple complaints and criminal accusations filed by #KimSoohyun and our company against Kim Seui of Garo Sero Research Institute.
As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that the various suspicions and evidence raised by the Garo Sero Research Institute side against Kim Soohyun were not true. In particular, it was revealed that the deceased’s KakaoTalk conversations released through the press conference had been altered and manipulated from conversations with another person unrelated to Kim Soohyun, and it was also confirmed that the deceased’s voice was manipulated material created using AI technology.
Accordingly, due to the seriousness of the case and the charges including violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation through spreading false information), violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution of illegally filmed material using cameras and coercion using filmed material), and threats, the court issued an arrest warrant for Kim Seui.
We deeply thank the investigative authorities for their efforts in revealing the truth based on objective evidence.
At the press conference one year ago, Kim Soohyun promised, “I will not ask you to believe me. I will make sure to prove it.”
The past year for Kim Soohyun was a time spent only to keep that promise. At last, through the procedures set by the law and a thorough investigation, he was able to prove the truth.
We sincerely thank everyone who trusted and waited for Kim Soohyun all this time.”

Stay strong a little longer, our actor, #KimSoohyun. Tomorrow, the truth finally has a chance to speak louder than months of accusations and edited narratives. Truth survives even when people try their hardest to bury it. You deserve justice, peace, and the chance to breathe without carrying the weight of other people’s lies.

Ga perlu juga panjang lebar klarifikasi lah, cukup dengan GAUSAH balik nge-stan kim soohyun lagi. Dia ga butuh fans kyk kalian.
Sayang cenblu & followersmu yg 5ribu?
@DavinaAmira
mbak @DavinaAmira yg saya heran, km ga ada kah malu2nya sblm berani posting sesuatu lg ttg soohyun kmrn? Knp sepede itu? Atau jgn2 km dijanjiin bakal di back up support sm circlemu ya? mana mereka skrg? Ngumpet kah? Ga jadi saling saut2an tweet?
Uda eneg sama akunmu since day 1, kamulah yg awal2 terus2an ngebocorin isi bubble, pas ditegur dihapus sih, tp pembelaan blgnya knetz juga suka nyebarin, asal lo tau panutan lo si "that person" skrg udh ditandai sama fans soohyun lain krn udh ngehujat dan g akan diterima balik lg
Since the broadcasting station reached out to me, Ko Sangrok, for an interview as a victim, I will speak as the person directly affected and tell you the facts as they are.
⸻
First, let me tell you something surprising.
On June 11, Kim Seui posted a ridiculous message mentioning the real name of the head of the Gangnam Police Department’s Investigation Division, claiming that he “hadn’t even received a single call for questioning over the Kim Soohyun case for three months.” Right after that post, the investigation team handling Kim Soohyun’s case was reassigned, from its original team under that same division to another team within the same division.
And that new team, which was formed four and a half months ago, was called the “Special Investigation Team.”
About three months later, in mid-September, I was appointed as Kim Soohyun’s legal representative after receiving an SOS from LKB. You already know what happened after that.
Lately, I’ve seen the term “Special Investigation Team” repeatedly appear in the media and on social media, and to be honest, I don’t feel good about it. I don’t know every detail of the police’s internal decisions, but if that “special” team had really conducted a focused investigation for those four months, I wouldn’t have had to step in as Kim Soohyun’s lawyer today.
⸻
Now, let me tell you something even more shocking.
Since reporter Kang Kyungyoon and I filed a criminal complaint against Kim Seui on May 7, the investigation team has been changed twice, and this new team is now the third one.
During all that time, six months, Kim Seui has not been questioned as a suspect even once.
Right after we filed the complaint, through the prosecutor-turned-lawyer I hired, I called the first investigation team dozens of times asking them to please schedule my statement as the complainant. I never got a call back. Instead, I received a text message saying, “We’ll write the statement for you. Just come and sign it.”
My lawyer, who used to be a prosecutor, said if a prosecutor ever sent such a message to a victim, they’d be forced to resign immediately.
Eventually, my request for the investigator’s recusal was accepted, and the team was replaced. Only then could I finally give my statement as the victim.
But even after that, for another four months, Kim Seui still wasn’t questioned as a suspect, not once.
It wasn’t until this issue was officially raised during the National Assembly audit, and after the Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police admitted the investigation had been poorly handled, that my case was finally reassigned again, not to “Team A” or “Team B,” but to the “Special Investigation Unit.”
The name isn’t what matters.
⸻
The second investigation team, which took over after the recusal, treated me with real kindness. I appreciated that much.
But when my lawyer asked, “Why hasn’t Kim Seui been questioned yet?” here’s what they said:
“We’re waiting because there was a request to disclose the complaint.”
“The suspect’s lawyer was appointed late.”
“They said they would submit a written opinion first.”
This was already five months after the complaint had been filed.
Since when does our country wait five months for a criminal to request access to a complaint?
I’ve been a lawyer for 14 years. When I call an investigator about one of my client’s cases and ask, “Could we delay the questioning by two weeks?” I hold my phone carefully with both hands, speak as politely as possible, and try to make sure my tone doesn’t sound pushy.
So I genuinely don’t understand when our country became a place that waits five months for a criminal to submit a written opinion first.
