@JohnnyGiunta_ Decision prioritizing having an ineffective lefty over a long man was short sighted. Given the state of the recent pen usage and lack of off days you cant go into a game with no real long man. Obviously KG is expected to eat more innings but have to be prepared if he doesn’t.
@yyzsportsmedia Ya. I can buy that this return seems lower than what we would’ve expected and maybe they sold low. (Possible also that we overrate our own guys). But the idea that he was their best, most consistent and reliable?!? That’s just a fallacy.
@Covers_josh Agreed. Seems like they didn’t need to make this trade today and it would be there in like a month. Who really knows though. Like you said return seems lighter than what would be expected
@yyzsportsmedia@RealKyper@SamAMcKee Issue is Kyper wasn’t quiet when the story had a positive shine on Marner. Now he’s taking a moral high ground and calling it petty and saying it’s just another guy who played here. If there wouldn’t have been so much attacking of leafs fans this would have been a lot quieter.
@McInnispicks He’s also being taken out of context. He said they dominated large stretches of the series which is factual but acknowledged that as far as winning they made key errors and mistakes that cost them which is the difference between winning and losing.
@Covers_josh Or 1 Suzuki first place, 2 Caufield second place and 1 Caufield third place and one Pasta third place. Like what are these writers doing??
@ProducerDrew_ That’s where I’m at. I don’t understand Kucherovs case over McDavid. I also don’t get how someone can honestly put Suzuki at 1 and Caufield at 2. It’s just annoying how these writers always make these look at me votes
@ryanmichael@AdamSchefter First, take into account the personnel every yr. Second, setting a culture at HC was extremely important especially with the lack of direction we had at HC in the yrs between Kubiak and Payton. I agree he’s a bit overrated as an offensive genius but that’s not his only attribute.
@JonMetler I would give it to him. He’s been the most consistent player. Has played excellent defense including in transition on fox on that inexplicable shot attempt by Fox. Hit the 3s to get them back in tonight.
@Covers_josh Staal is still good value. Besides his goals he has been the key faceoff guy whenever Carolina needs to win a draw. I think he should be the Carolina favorite.
@WatchMyReview Staal Ehlers and potentially someone else in the last 3 games of this series will have done more than enough to deserve Conn Smythe if Carolina wins. McDavid was 20 points ahead of the closest Panther and I think set an assist record or something close.
@pearlosnhlpow It doesn’t make sense to me. If McDavid is so committed to Edmonton why wouldn’t he just have signed the long extension already. I think your reading on this situation is a lot more accurate
@pearlosnhlpow If it’s a winning situation and especially if Larkin knows a couple players on the team I think he would be fine. He ultimately will have to agree to any trade so it either gets really messy with Detroit or he’s willing to be more flexible.
