🔴 #UK sanctions alleged RSF-linked financiers and UAE-based companies over #Sudan war gold networks
The United Kingdom has announced a new package of sanctions targeting individuals and companies accused of supporting Sudan’s war economy, with a focus on alleged financial, procurement and commercial networks linked to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The measures include Sudanese national Abu Dharr Abdul Nabi Habiballa Ahmmed, whom the UK describes as a suspected RSF financier, as well as UAE-based companies allegedly involved in facilitating funding, procurement and logistics for the group.
The UK government said the sanctions also target networks linked to Sudan’s conflict-driven gold trade, which it says has provided a key source of revenue sustaining the RSF’s military operations. London accused those targeted of exploiting commercial channels to move funds, secure supplies and support procurement activities, including through networks operating in the UAE. The UK said the measures aim to disrupt illicit gold revenues and financial flows that continue to fuel the war in Sudan.
