How to you think job hunting should work?
1) Should employers try to appeal to potential new hires?
2) People seeking employment should appeal to potential employers?
3) mix of the two

The state of American democracy:
—A President who serves Putin
—A Sec. of Defense who serves contractors
—An EPA admin. who serves the coal industry
—A Sec. of HHS who serves pharma
—A Sec. of the Interior who serves Big Oil
—A Sec. of Education who serves for-profit colleges
Big thanks to the KSC chemistry department for helping me meet the requirements to graduate with a chemistry minor. Couldn’t have done it without all the amazing professors here at KSC
I'll soon be meeting with my senior sem class for the last time this morning. The semester is over, but the journey and connecting never ends. Remember students, the #KSCBio faculty are always here for you- all of us. Keep us posted, keep tweeting, stay in touch in other ways.
@ABDATKSC I just watched the film 'Before the Flood' that talks about this issue beautifully. So many congressmen are paid by fossil fuel companies to deny climate change and its so frustrating as a scientist to watch this happen. #KSCBio
ANDDDDD avoiding the use of JARGON in public spaces can help people be more open to learning about the SCIENTIFIC FACTS!! Don’t exclude people because they don’t know as much about science as you do 👏🏼
@sukig_bio @maxfoiseybio I think if everyone used social media more actively to spread scientific fact, it would reach a much larger audience. Especially those who are ignorant and should learn more than others
I think that the political climate is playing a huge role in the skepticism of scientific facts. Particularly climate change statistics. One way #KSCbio students can help spread awareness is by educating ignorant people with a nonpartisan attitude
#KSCBio discussion continues today 10:00am EST
Q3: As the public grows more skeptical of science, how can #KSCBio students play a role in educating about and supporting the reliance on scientific facts?
Q4: Can social media play a valuable role in science ed and communication?
A nationwide study of 63,000 cardiac arrest cases found that #ambulances on average took four minutes longer to handle calls from low-income areas than high-income communities. https://t.co/TpFtKpSDby
Absolutely totally 100% THIS. What is happening to our democracy should inform every move we make right now, every tiny little thing that we do. #HigherEd#OpenPed#KSCollab
Me: I desperately want a career in academia, but I look at what you do, and I just can’t do that.
PhD advisor: Of course you can’t…
What followed was so impactful and empowered me to start dismantling my biggest career barrier. Maybe it can help you too:

Immediate takeaway from the student loan repayment lecture in senior seminar is that “it will be okay”. Communicate with your loan services and financial aid from your school and work it out. Student loans aren’t as bad as you think. Just don’t be dumb with your money #KSCBIO
