We were received with full ceremonial honors and a Guard of Honour, marking a defining moment that opens a new chapter in our bilateral relations.
I am grateful to the Speaker of the Knesset for welcoming us with such warmth and dignity.

In a massive diplomatic breakthrough, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu officially welcomed the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abd al-Rahman Muhammad Abd Allah, to his office in Jerusalem.
The historic meeting culminated in a signed joint declaration, cementing deep strategic cooperation and making Israel the first nation in the world to officially recognize Somaliland's independence.

IDF Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir is meeting today with Somaliland Armed Forces Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Nimcaan Gaxnuug to translate recent diplomatic ties into practical security and military cooperation, with a focus on Red Sea maritime security and regional defense coordination.
The discussions reportedly include plans to develop coastal surveillance systems at Berbera port, expand intelligence-sharing channels, enhance special forces training programs, and deploy advanced monitoring and reconnaissance technologies.
The opening of Somaliland’s embassy in Jerusalem marks a significant milestone in relations between Israel and Somaliland.
The inauguration took place during President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi’s first state visit abroad since taking office and follows Israel’s recognition of Somaliland in December 2025.
Six months after Israel🇮🇱 recognized Somaliland, both countries are transitioning toward concrete economic cooperation.
High-level visits and talks have led to the signing of a Strategic Joint Declaration of Cooperation covering agriculture, water management, technology, and infrastructure.
