Participants include CBM KCO staff, implementing partners & strategic government ministries. One of the key highlights of the review meeting was a robust presentation from the @NDMA_Kenya on their work & collaboration with PACIDA on Anticipatory Action Planning in Isiolo County.
PACIDA has been participating in the Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID) Annual partners review meeting in Kisumu city, with the theme of taking stock and accelerating collaboration towards sustainable programming.
Kenya’s ASALs, 70% of Kenya’s landmass, & home to over 10M people face recurrent shocks like droughts, causing food insecurity. From 2018-2023, @USAID partnership for resilience and economic growth (PREG) reduced food insecurity in Nothern Kenya by 10.4%. #COP29#ClimateAction
A hundred (100) farmers group members from Samburu East & West, Samburu County had a reason to smile when they received certified drought-resistant seeds & tools from PACIDA to address food insecurity in the county.
This was supported by Caritas Germany under the GFFO Project.

The report on this was presented by PACIDA, Global Communities and Intrahealth at the Global Health Practitioner Conference 2024 - Drought, Disaster and Hope: Addressing the Impacts of Climate Change on East Africa Pastoralist Communities through Research and Innovation.
Ipas Africa Alliance partnered with the Pastoralist Community Initiative and Development Assistance (PACIDA) and the Samburu County Government to assess how the climate crisis is affecting SRHR services in Samburu County, Kenya.
"This means replacing division, dis-empowerment and despair with justice, equality and hope for all.
The event was graced by Samburu Governor H. E Lati Lelelit who made an impassioned call to communities in the county to harmoniously co-exist and uphold peace.
