We have been praying and teaching at the Masjid as-Salafi in Birmingham for the last 25 years — with literally thousands of visitors each week. What a blessing from Allah! We thank Him and praise Him for His constant bounties upon us.
⚠️ Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is being attacked from the air as I write.
🇸🇦 May Allah (the Mighty and Majestic) protect this land of Tawheed and all Muslim lands from their enemies.
🤲 Make duʿāʾ for them. May Allah keep us and them safe and steadfast in īmān.
His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars and President of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta, Sheikh Dr. Salih bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan, advised all Muslims to be diligent and strive in worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan, following the example and guidance of Abdullah and His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
In the two authentic collections (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim), it is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said:
“When the last ten nights began, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would tighten his waistcloth, spend his night in worship, and wake his family.”
Muslim also narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would exert himself in the last ten nights more than at any other time.”
His Eminence said:
“The hadiths indicate that these ten nights should be distinguished with increased acts of worship and obedience. Among these is reviving the nights with prayer, as well as performing iʿtikāf (spiritual retreat) during these nights. In the two authentic collections it is reported from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that:
‘The Prophet ﷺ used to observe iʿtikāf during the last ten nights of Ramadan until Allah took his soul.’
The scholars said that the Prophet ﷺ would observe iʿtikāf in these nights in which Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) is sought, so that he could free himself from worldly distractions, devote his heart fully, and focus on intimate supplication, remembrance, and prayer to his Lord.
It is also prescribed during these nights to seek Laylat al-Qadr, in accordance with the statement of the Prophet ﷺ:
“Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhari from Aisha.)
He added:
“It is recommended for whoever witnesses these nights to frequently say:
‘O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.’
For Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
‘O Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what should I say in it?’
He replied:
‘Say: O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.’
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a sound and authentic hadith.)
He continued:
“I therefore advise myself and all Muslims to strive in acts of worship such as prayer, recitation of the Qur’an, charity, and other righteous deeds. I also advise everyone to increase in supplication and persist in it, for you are calling upon One who is All-Hearing and Near, Most Generous and Most Kind, Compassionate and Merciful.
So call upon Allah for yourselves, for your parents, for your families and your descendants. And pray to Allah for your leaders, for your countries, and for all Muslims.”
Allah the Exalted says:
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the call of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be rightly guided.”
(Qur’an 2:186)
30+ years ago, a Somali brother named Yaqub & his family welcomed us into their home in Cardiff.
He taught us the Arabic alphabet and the basics of the language.
More than three decades later, that kindness is not forgotten.
May Allah bless him, cure him, and bless his family.

📚 Seeking Assistance from Non-Muslims: A Discussion in Light of Shariah Proofs.
These types of events require rulings of the Major Scholars of Islām (based upon proofs) due to the great implications and ramifications of such verdicts, which may involve the invasion of lands and the spilling of blood. The benefits and harms of such rulings cannot be comprehended except by those firmly grounded in Islamic jurisprudence, the knowledge of Prophetic Hadīths, Seerah, history and current affairs.

If Salafism were a CIA project, Western political discourse wouldn’t demonize it and academia wouldn’t constantly distort it.
The problem for Alexander Dugin is simple: the methodology of the Salaf is a fortress his ideology cannot penetrate.
He has an agenda too.

“Follow my Sunnah”
“The Prophet ﷺ did not celebrate his birth, nor did he guide towards it. None of his Companions — the best and most beloved people to the Prophet ﷺ — celebrated it, nor did the Tabi‘een (the generation after the Companions), nor those who followed them with excellence in the favored centuries. Therefore, it is known to be an innovation (bid‘ah).”
— Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him)
