Erdogan can do whatever he wants. Turkey will be forced soon to shut its bases in Africa. The horn of Africa must stay away from Muslim Brotherhood. Somaliland is and was recognized not only by Israel, it is getting representation in the UN.
Turkey alligator tears will turn against themselves.
The UAE flag flying in downtown Hargeisa symbolizes growing #UAE–Somaliland diplomatic solidarity, highlights Somaliland as a reliable partner in the Horn of Africa, and reflects deepening economic, security cooperation and Somaliland’s legitimate authority over Berbera Port.

Pakistan's former Amb. to Ethiopia details the history of Somaliland, the legality of its case having been a recognised state in 1960.. and even cites the 2001 UN report on the Isaaq Genocide.
A few mistakes that can be corrected, but the world is fast going from complete ignorance to discussing minutia of Somaliland's history.
Israel's recognition has been a game changer.
The Government of the Republic of #Somaliland affirms its principled alignment with the #UnitedStates in support of calibrated international action to uphold constitutional order and the rule of law in #Venezuela, and to support a peaceful, #Venezuelan led #transition.
Malcolm X — Voice of Freedom & Self-Determination
Malcolm X, a global voice of freedom and self-determination, taught that independence is not a gift bestowed by powerful states, but a right claimed by peoples who control their own destiny.
In 1960 — the “Year of Africa” — the continent witnessed an unprecedented wave of liberation, as more than 17 African nations achieved independence. #Somaliland stood among the leading African countries gaining independence on 26 June 1960 and securing international recognition .
Malcolm X’s freedom message echoed across this historic moment — a continental awakening where Africans reclaimed sovereignty, dignity, and nationhood. Somaliland’s 1960 independence formed part of this same liberation era he championed: Africa standing up, speaking for itself, and shaping its own future.
This is exactly what Algeria's foreign minister said at the UN General Assembly in September:
"Establishing a state is not a choice, but a necessity. It is not a favor, but a right.”
Only when it refers to the Palestinians does the UN support and applaud, and when it comes to Somaliland, they condemn and oppose.

We all enormously respect the African Union @_AfricanUnion as our own institution. But this Djibouti's former MFA, the Chairperson, @ymahmoudali is apparently struggling to differentiate between bilateral & multilateral modalities, mixing up Djibouti's position @IsmailOguelleh as AU stance in his public statements.

The Government of the Republic of Somaliland firmly rejects false claims made by the President of Somalia alleging the resettlement of Palestinians or the establishment of military bases in Somaliland.
For anyone who forgot, this is what the African Union itself determined regarding Somaliland:
“The fact that the union between Somaliland and Somalia was never ratified and also malfunctioned when it went into action from 1960 to 1990, makes Somaliland's search for recognition historically unique and self-justified in African political history.”
H.E. President @AbdirahmanIrro delivers his New Year 2026 address to the people of Somaliland at home and across the diaspora, reaffirming national unity, shared purpose, and confidence in the road ahead.
