Of recent, I’ve been dedicating 2 to 3 hours of my day to backtesting.

Personally, backtesting gives me a lot of clarity. It helps me understand my strategy better, identify what has consistently been happening in the market, and know what to look out for when I’m trading live.

One thing I’m naturally good at is recognizing patterns, and that helps me spot the things that consistently work and separate them from random market movements.

It’s strange how human desire works. We spend so much of our lives chasing what we don’t have, only to want something else once we finally get it.

Maybe that’s the nature of being human. Satisfaction is temporary, but desire keeps finding a new target.

It can be a blessing because it gives us ambition and keeps us moving. But it can also be a curse if we spend our entire lives chasing the next thing without ever appreciating where we are.
