We walked into the room with the biggest elephant in Nigeria's health sector, the Gates Foundation(@Gates_Nigeria). As the largest donor and development partner in our country's healthcare space, their support is vital. But my message was simple, Niger State is no longer waiting for help. We are executing.
I had the privilege of presenting His Excellency, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago(@HonBago)'s ambitious health transformation agenda. We didn't just talk problems. We talked real reforms on polio eradication, routine immunization, nutrition, maternal and child health, and integrated service delivery.
Hard-to-reach communities can no longer be left behind. With data-driven solutions and strong partnerships, we will scale impact and strengthen our health systems.
Our shared commitments going forward are; every child vaccinated, every mother gets quality care and every community enjoys resilient health services
With sustained collaboration, Niger State will not just catch up, we will become Nigeria's leading example of healthcare innovation and impact.

Big step for routine immunization in Niger State.
I played host to @UNICEF_Nigeria and Genesis Analytics today alongside our Executive Director of @NSPHCDA, Dr. Junaidu Inuwa (@inuwaj75).
Niger State is one of 12 states selected for an in-depth UNICEF-led study on zero-dose children, those missing life-saving vaccines. The research will explore caregiver beliefs, community dynamics, and health worker experiences, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
The concept of zero-dose children gained global attention around 2016, and it remains a critical challenge in immunization programming. This qualitative study could not have come at a better time.
We welcome the evidence-based recommendations it will generate, and I have assured the team of full state cooperation, including logistics, ethical approval, and study area selection.
Let’s close the immunization gap one child, one community at a time.

Today, I joined Her Excellency, Hajiya Fatima Muhammad Bago (@fatimabago_), at the Basic Health Care Center, Sabon Wuse, as she flagged off the June/July 2026 Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Week.
This campaign is not just an event, it is a lifeline for our mothers and children. Under the visionary leadership of Governor Umaru Muhammad Bago (@HonBago), our administration remains committed to reducing maternal and under-five mortality through accessible, quality primary healthcare.
I commend the First Lady for her unwavering advocacy and passion for the health of women and children in Niger State. Together, we are delivering life-saving interventions: routine immunizations, micronutrient supplements, deworming, and antenatal care services—right to the doorsteps of our people.
Let me be clear: no woman should lose her life giving birth, and no child should die from preventable diseases. This MNCH week is a bold step toward that reality.
I call on all parents and caregivers in Sabon Wuse and beyond to take advantage of this free, high-impact health week. Visit your nearest PHC facility. Protect your child. Protect your future.

This morning, I had the distinct honour of representing His Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago (@HonBago), the Governor of Niger State, alongside His Royal Highness, Alh. Dr. Yahaya Abubakar CFR, the Etsu Nupe, to observe the Eid El-Adha prayer at the Bida Eid Praying Ground.
It was a profound moment of spiritual reflection, unity, and supplication for our great state and nation. As we celebrate the spirit of sacrifice and obedience to Allah, I also reaffirm our commitment in the Ministry of Health to continue sacrificing for the well-being of every citizen of Niger State.
Eid Mubarak to you all. May our prayers and sacrifices be accepted.
Congratulations Your Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago (@HonBago) on 3 impactful years of visionary leadership.
Your commitment to the health and wellbeing of Niger State residents remains unwavering.
we celebrate your dedication and pray for continued strength and success.
I'm pleased to share that the New Niger Health Agenda is gaining strong national traction. At the Community-Oriented DMPA-SC Self-Injection Acceleration in Nigeria (CODSAiN) Maturity Scorecard meeting organized by ARFH, Niger State was recognized as a top-performing state in reproductive health and family planning. I am proud of our progress, but we will not rest. The Bago administration is doubling down on family planning financing, commodity security, and stronger supply chain systems because no disruptions and no excuses is the standard we now operate by.
I also joined the Global Fund (@GlobalFund) GC8 stakeholders' meeting to shape Nigeria's 2027–2029 funding request, and my message was clear: Niger State must be visible in national proposals. I actively pushed for increased investments in primary healthcare infrastructure, health workforce development, disease surveillance, healthcare financing, commodity security, and digital health innovations. It is non-negotiable that state-specific realities are adequately captured in national funding proposals if we are to maximize impact at the grassroots level.
Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago (@HonBago), we are not just building hospitals—we are building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready health system capable of meeting the needs of every Nigerlite. Our participation in these strategic engagements demonstrates Niger State's readiness to leverage partnerships, attract critical development support, and align with national and global best practices in healthcare delivery.
The New Niger Health Agenda is alive and transforming healthcare infrastructure and service delivery across our state. Universal Health Coverage is within reach, and we will continue to ensure that Niger State remains visible, competitive, and well-positioned to access strategic national and international.

Live at the floor of the #WHXLagos, we witnessed the unveiling of the ACUSON Sequoia Ultrasound System.
The ACUSON Sequoia ultrasound system redefines what is possible in diagnostic imaging. Built on intelligent technology and powered by practical AI, it aims to transform how clinicians see, measure, and decide, helping reduce variability across users and systems.
With superior depth penetration, excellent image uniformity and automated capabilities across specialties, ACUSON Sequoia empowers confident decisions in every exam and every patient encounter.
Way to go! ✅
A major step forward for healthcare in Niger State.
Earlier today, we officially commissioned the Niger State Private Health Facilities Registration and Regulation Agency (NISPHFRA). This is more than an event—it is a strategic intervention under the New Niger Agenda and our Ministry’s THRIVE mantra.
For too long, private healthcare regulation has been fragmented. NISPHFRA changes that. It will register and license facilities, enforce professional standards, protect patient safety, and generate reliable data for evidence-based planning. We are building strong institutions, not just infrastructure.
I commend the Executive Chairman, Dr. Suleiman Abdullahi, and his team for their commitment to professionalism and transparency. This Agency is a cornerstone for quality assurance, health security, and accountability in the private sector.
Our goal is Universal Health Coverage. And with NISPHFRA, we move closer to a Niger where every citizen receives care in facilities that are safe, compliant, and committed to quality. Lives protected. Standards promoted. That is the New Niger way.
