The brutal killing of 24 hunters from the North in Uromi, Edo State, is an utterly reprehensible and barbaric act that deserves the strongest possible condemnation. This horrific incident, where a group of travelers journeying from Rivers State to Kano State were intercepted and savagely murdered through mob justice, exposes a sickening level of lawlessness, prejudice, and inhumanity.

The fact that these individuals were falsely accused of being kidnappers by local security personnel and then subjected to such a gruesome fate without evidence, due process, or even a shred of decency is a damning indictment of the failure of justice and rationality in that community.

This is not just a tragedy, it is a disgraceful stain on society, a chilling reminder of how quickly ignorance and unchecked vigilantism can spiral into mass murder.

The perpetrators of this atrocity, along with those who stood by and allowed it to happen, have blood on their hands and should face the full weight of the law. Though it’s doubtful that justice will ever truly be served in a system that permits such savagery to unfold.

To slaughter 24 human beings based on mere suspicion, without trial or investigation, is an act of cruelty that strips away any claim to morality or civilization.

The loss of these lives hunters, not criminals, who were simply passing through—is a gut-wrenching injustice that demands outrage. It’s a stark warning of the dangers of mob mentality and the lethal consequences of dehumanizing others based on regional or ethnic differences.

Those responsible, from the instigators to the enablers, are not just murderers; they are a blight on humanity itself. This act must not be brushed aside or forgotten, it should haunt us all as a call to dismantle the systems and mindsets that breed such unforgivable violence. Anything less than total condemnation is complicity in the face of evil.
