The establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari Centre, a landmark institution, is one of the major initiatives currently in the pipeline. It will be managed and overseen by the Muhammadu Buhari Foundation. It is not going to be just a memorial place, the Centre is envisioned as a world-class destination dedicated to preserving the life, values and legacy of our boss, the late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

It will serve as a hub for historical documentation, research, leadership development, exhibitions and legacy preservation, while also providing modern facilities for events, learning and recreation.

The Buhari Centre will be one of Abuja’s must-visit destinations. In this place, history will be preserved, ideas are going to be nurtured, while future generations can draw inspiration from the enduring legacy of Nigeria’s most consequential leader.

I was on a phone call with a friend earlier today when he said: "The most frightening corruption is not always the one you can see, but the one hidden in plain sight."

I believe it completely.

Now look at this, for days, Nigerians have argued over the drama surrounding a so-called "ghost agency." But while our attention was fixed on that spectacle, a far more disturbing revelation quietly emerged.

According to Reuters' report on the IMF's latest Article IV Consultation, public expenditure , the IMF's latest assessment of Nigeria's public finances, government expenditures equivalent to about 2% of our GDP were executed outside the official budget framework. If translated into today's economy, that is ₦8.8 trillion.

Pause for a second and check that figure, again, ₦8.8 trillion.

That is not an accounting error. That is not loose change. That's money that is hidden from everyone but caught the attention of the IMF. That's the money being spent off budget. That is money capable of transforming healthcare, education, agriculture, power, roads, security, and the lives of millions of Nigerians.

If public funds can move on that scale outside the budget Nigerians debate every year, then we have a problem far bigger than rising inflation or the removal of fuel subsidies.

For years, citizens have been told to endure hardship because government coffers are empty. Families have watched their purchasing power evaporate. Businesses have collapsed. Parents now choose between paying school fees and putting food on the table.

Yet, if enormous public expenditures can exist outside the budget process, then Nigerians deserve answers.

Who approved them?

Who executed them?

Who monitored them?

Who audited them?

And why were they outside the very budget that the National Assembly painstakingly debates and passes?

Democracy cannot survive on blind trust. Accountability is not optional; it is the price public officials pay for the privilege of managing public resources.

The tragedy is not merely that trillions may have escaped public scrutiny. The tragedy is that many Nigerians have become so accustomed to scandal that we now react with outrage for only a few hours before moving on to the next headline.

We must never normalize opacity.

Whether you support this government or oppose it, one principle should unite us all: every kobo of public money must be traceable, lawful, and accountable.

Nigeria does not have a revenue problem alone.

Nigeria has a governance problem.

And until transparency becomes non-negotiable, the ordinary citizen will continue to pay for a system that refuses to account for itself.

What is being done to @elrufai is wrong.

It is wrong to answer a political rival with the machinery of the courts. It is wrong to turn custody into a cage that keeps an ailing man from his doctors, his lawyers and his family because you want to silence his voice.

He has been convicted of nothing. In the eyes of the law he is an innocent man. Treat him as one.

BREAKING: Video shows residents trekking on foot as they flee their homes following reports of bandit attacks in parts of Bodinga LGA, Sokoto State.

Local sources say bandits have entered villages including Danchadi, Dabagi, Karaje and Taqule, forcing families to flee. Sources also report that a displaced woman said her husband was killed during the violence.

Of all the allegations of unprecedented corruption surrounding the Tinubu administration, this case stands out as the clearest indication yet of how some within the government appear to view Nigeria's collective wealth as a personal cake to be shared.

Rather than putting public concerns to rest, Mr. Bayo Onanuga's rebuttal raises even more questions than it answers. In any administration committed to accountability, Femi Gbajabiamila would have been suspended immediately, pending a genuinely independent, transparent, and credible investigation. Anything less only deepens public suspicion and further erodes confidence in the government's commitment to transparency and the rule of law.

This man was our area uncle, one of the educated egbon adugbos we had at the time. The whole incident happened on a Friday back in 2011 at 26, Olushola Faronbi street, Isolo. He lived with his wife in a newly constructed building at Adekunle street at the time.

I remember vividly that when I got back from Mushin around 1pm, which was even unusual for me because I normally prayed in Mushin before coming back home, I saw him and his friends at Mama Femi’s shop drinking and jollificating. It was their usual routine.

I thought it was another Friday to party. Apparently it was his birthday. So, the loud noise and music was understandable.

It was time to go for Jumat prayer. As I was leaving, I noticed he had already gone and the shop was a bit calmer. He told his guys he was just going home and would come back.

By the time I returned from the mosque, the news hit us. He went home to get more money from his wife to spend at Mama Femi’s shop. The guy did not even have a job. His wife worked in a bank and she was the one bankrolling him at the time, so you can imagine that.

Maybe she didn’t give him the money or she just didn't want him to go back out to drink. One thing led to another during the altercation and he stabbed her. Not once or twice? It was over 70 times.

I opened my mouth and couldn’t close it. Everywhere was disorganized. He stabbed his wife on his own birthday. The atmosphere at our house was strange that day.

Guess what happened the following day? His alcoholic drinking friends moved on like nothing happened.

That was the day I knew alcohol is not something a young man should be proud of. Excessive alcohol spoilt his life. He altered the journey of his children.

The last time I saw him on TV was 2015 (the picture shared). He was shouting Jesus and holding a Bible. Apparently, he is now born again. Not out of conviction, but because he has no choice.

Say NO to Alcohol.

* Federal universities generally rank above most state universities.

* Federal Government Colleges are better run than state government colleges

* Federal teaching hospitals offer more specialised healthcare than state hospitals.

* Federal roads are better built and maintained than state roads.

* INEC, despite its imperfections, conducts more credible elections than State Independent Electoral Commissions.

* The federal civil service is generally more structured than state civil service.

If performance is the benchmark, why does Tinubu think states can run police better than the federal government?
