Beyond all the statements and releases, there’s only one.

SHUT DOWN the Ghana Premier League. It is not fit for purpose.

It is not just murder. There’s a systemic disfunction and only Asante Kotoko together with Hearts of Oak can force a complete reform and back to professionalism.

A big test for Kofi Adams. Reform the League. Force the lax GFA reform.

Insist on club licensing to the highest standards.

If at the end of the day we have only 10 clubs passing the requirements, so be it.

Kotoko have withdrawn from all football activities. I call on Hearts to join them.

Do this for the fans who love a “quality and safe League”.

I have a 10-point proposal on sports.

#1. The priority of this new NDC administration in terms of sports should be a comprehensive restructuring of school sports.

Invest massively under a defined long term policy. The Ministry of Sports & NSA should focus on their core mandate of policy and implementation and stop following the Black Stars around.

I’d want to see a weeklong National School Sports Competition, a replica of the NSMQ, with the best of best schools from each region converging at different capitals each year on rotational basis just as the NSMQ.

It is then and then that we can see our best talents become household names at age 15 or 16 like the Essiens, Vida Anims, the Emmanuel Tuffuors, etc so we track their growth.

We can capitalize on the success and consistency of the Ashanti Regional School Sports.

The best from each must be awarded scholarships and the strong teams kept at Winneba Sports College for at least a year for proper development into top professional.

I can’t wait to see a heavily funded l”GNPC National School Festival” or “Ghana Gas National Schools Championship” that will draw interest from all present, past students of these schools and the general public.

Our sports is at an all time low because we have no development at the base and the only way to revive is not to paper the cracks.

The other 9 points will flow as and when.

See, the Constitution has both legal elements and political elements. Parliament is for politics. They deal with the political aspect of the constitution. The courts are for law. Theirs is the legal aspect of the constitution. It is pseudo-jurisprudential for any supreme court to come to believe that everything about the Constitution or governance is law. The more and deeper a supreme court strays into the internal affairs of Parliament and tries to chaperone it, the clearer it casts itself in the shadows of politics, especially when its decisions always end in favour of one side of the political divide. The biggest loser is the court. Because, naturally, it is the weakest of all the arms. It’s weaker in terms of numbers. And, because its members are not elected, also in terms of legitimacy. It is even more weak because the enforcement of its orders are entirely dependent on political will. It’s actually that simple.
