An IT firm hired someone as a freelance/contractor (Pakistani firm and worker are in Pakistan too). Firm has to cut 4% WHT of the gross income every month? Income is not stable; it can go up/down every month.

Alex Norris, the Home Minister of the UK is simply forgetting the fact that grooming gang leader Shabir Ahmed is a UK citizen & renounced his Pakistani citizenship decades ago, he has no connection whatsoever to Pakistan, however its interesting that if Amir Khan [The Boxer], wins titles & they are created to the UK, but if someone who has renounced his Pakistani nationality decades ago does a heinous crime becomes a Pakistani, these double standards won't work in the new world order. UK must focus on its own safety & security & should never try to externalize its internal problems.

@MominISheikh Switching phones every 2/3 years is mostly people's personal choice. Especially if it is in working condition.

My current Android phone is 3.5 years old and still works fine, I handle my work from my phone too. Company issued laptop is 6 years old and personal 7 years old.

@AmerSharifOFCL As long as freelancers are concerned, their take-home is their gross income/revenue. I believe 90% don't even mention expenses in their returns. They mention all as income, and that's it.

In fact, in many cases, it is shown as Home Remittance on their bank statement.

They don't give a damn. They only go after easy targets. Salaries class, Patrolium levy, Electricity bills.
Instead of increasing the number of taxpayers (professionals, traders, real estate dealers, etc.), they go after the same people. Result more people get out of this system

We are only one month away from the budget. I would request everyone to highlight the issue of unfair taxation on the salaried class and demand real, tangible relief from the government on every possible forum during this one-and-a-half-month period until the budget is approved. Regardless of the expected outcome, your voice matters. This is the minimum you can do for yourself and this orphan neglected salaried class.
