Today, I paid an official working visit to the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Gusau, where I had the opportunity to interact with some of our brightest and most dedicated students.
During the visit, I met with 15 outstanding students who brought to my attention the challenges they were facing regarding registration fees, which had prevented their names from being included among candidates eligible to sit for the upcoming Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE).
Education remains a priority of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, and no hardworking student should be denied the opportunity to achieve academic success due to financial constraints. In response, I immediately directed the prompt payment of their registration fees to ensure they participate in the examination without delay.
I commend these students for their commitment to excellence and perseverance despite the challenges they encountered. I also encouraged them to continue to uphold discipline, integrity, patriotism, and professionalism as future healthcare providers who will serve our communities with dedication and compassion.
Together, we will continue to invest in the education and empowerment of our young people for a brighter and more prosperous Zamfara State.

This morning, we convened a strategic stakeholder engagement to advance the next phase of Zamfara State’s digital health transformation journey.
Following the successful automation of six General Hospitals across the state—Gusau, Anka, Nasarawar Burkullu, Maru, Maradun, and Kauran Namoda—we are now moving into the critical stage of integration, training, and pilot deployment.
In attendance were key institutions driving this transformation:
1. Ministry of Health
2. Hospital Services Management Board
3. Zamfara Drugs Management Agency
4. Zamfara Internal Revenue Service (ZIRS)
The focus of our engagement was clear: to ensure seamless integration between the newly deployed Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS) and the State’s centralized Drugs Supply Platform, enabling real-time visibility of drug inventory, improved service delivery, enhanced accountability, and efficient revenue capture across our healthcare system.
We are pleased to announce that training and pilot implementation will commence at General Hospital Gusau, which will serve as the model for statewide rollout.
This initiative represents a significant milestone in our commitment to leveraging technology to strengthen healthcare delivery, improve transparency, and ultimately enhance the wellbeing of our citizens.
Zamfara is not just adopting technology—we are building a resilient, data-driven health system for the future.

Today in Gusau, we officially kicked off the 14-Day Strategic Synthesis Program following the declaration of a State of Emergency in Education by His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal.
I had the honour of sitting with the Steering Committee and Technical Working Group (TWG) to begin what I consider one of the most important conversations about the future of our children.
This was not just another meeting. We had honest, sometimes tough discussions about where we truly stand as a state when it comes to education. We looked at the gaps, the challenges, and the urgency of fixing them.
Over the next 14 days, we are not slowing down. This is a focused sprint that will shape the Governor’s 120-Day Rapid Intervention Plan. Every idea, every contribution, and every decision must count.
I shared a clear roadmap to guide our work, but more importantly, we are all aligned on one thing the need to act fast and get it right.
I’m encouraged by the level of commitment from everyone in the room from Permanent Secretaries and key ministries to the Legislature, the Office of the Head of Service, and the Hisbah Commission. This kind of unity is exactly what we need to move forward.
We owe it to our children, and we owe it to the future of Zamfara.
Hon. Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam
Commissioner of Budget and Planning
(Overseeing Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Science & Technology)

At a time when the future is being shaped by technology and innovation, I will be sharing insights from our journey at the Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA), highlighting how digital transformation is not just a vision, but a practical pathway to economic growth, inclusion, and resilience.
From building digital skills to strengthening innovation ecosystems and driving public sector transformation, our experience shows one thing clearly: the time to act is now.
This platform brings together thinkers, builders, and change-makers, and I look forward to contributing to a conversation that can inspire bold action and meaningful impact across our communities.

O Allah, make the Quran the spring of our hearts, the light of our chests, the dispeller of our sorrows, and the remover of our worries and griefs. Make it an argument in our favor, not against us,
