Vacating of QAU hostels reminds repeated closures of the university during Zia’s dictatorship. It was wrong then, it is wrong today. But we must not forget its sign of the regime’s weakness. This turned into a popular joke: there are two universities in Islamabad. Alama Iqbal open university and Quaid-I-Azam closed university.

QAU used to be one of our premier public universities. Disgusting to see QAU admin allow police to take away students simply bec they wanted summer classes & fees were paid too. Seems the Uni has been handed over to mafia administrators to mistreat students at will. Condemnable

Shameful. The VC should be sacked for using police when issue should have been resolved amicably by students & Admin. Resorting to brute force against students is pure fascism. Police holding QAU students in illegal detention with no qualms bec no law or accountability.
