The passing of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi is a monumental loss to the Muslim community in Nigeria and the African continent at large.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was a towering symbol of scholarship, peace, moral guidance and the preservation of our spiritual heritage. His life was a light that touched generations, his words were a compass for unity and tolerance, and his legacy remains engraved in the soul of this nation.

Nigeria has lost a father. Africa has lost a teacher. Humanity has lost a beacon of wisdom.

I extend my deepest condolences to his family, his students, the Tijjaniyya community and all who were shaped by his teachings. May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his noble deeds, and grant him the highest station in Jannatul Firdaus.
