You know you're a medical student when you see Hantavirus trending and your first instinct isn't to panic, but to try and remember if it's a Bunyaviridae or an Arenaviridae.
This is Nyeri level 5 pharmacy. A few months ago during my internship. The pharmacy is so big but you'll find very few drugs in the pharmacy. Then you hear the governor now wants to be elected as the senator to do oversight of the same things he was unable to do. Very shameless.
Dear @elonmusk,
when one of your Teslas kills someone while self driving or explodes on fire and the media charges your vehicles as unsafe, you point out sampling bias, share all kinds of statistics, and allege that the media is either accidentally or deliberately misrepresenting statistics to promote a vindictive agenda.
Yet, for the past week, you have blown every conceivable dog whistle of Islamophobia, by highlighting a select group of (horrifying) incidents supposedly in the name of Islam. Your barrage of tweets aimed at Islam have been as dangerous as they are dishonest about a faith practiced by over 2 billion people.
If you don’t know you are doing this and genuinely want clarification, I and many others easily accessible to you are willing to have a conversation. If this is deliberate smear campaign, then you are indeed every bit the hypocrite you once condemned.
As of today, interns' salaries have been updated in their payslips, aligning with the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Furthermore, 50% of the basic salary arrears are now being disbursed, with Kwale County (via KCB Bank) leading as the first to reflect these payments.
Fees have also been paid for 44 doctors, ensuring their ability to pursue their professional development without financial strain. A budget of Ksh. 65 million has also been set aside to support registrars, who are encouraged to submit their documents without delay to benefit from this allocation.
We are closely monitoring the disbursement process, and we expect all doctors across the counties to receive their payments by Monday or Tuesday next week. This progress is a testament to the dedication and collective strength of our union, and we remain steadfast in our pursuit of equity, respect, and fairness in the medical profession.
As @kmpdu, we stand in full solidarity with intern doctors who’ve been forced to work without pay since August. Their struggles and frustrations are a reflection of the government’s neglect of healthcare workers. The lies about universal healthcare must end!
Today, intern doctors staged a massive protest at Afya House, marking their second demonstration over unpaid salaries. The CBA is clear—interns must be paid in full, nothing more, nothing less. The RTWF signed on May 8, 2024, must be implemented immediately.
On Monday, Dec 16 , we march from KNH to Nairobi Hospital, MoH & Parliament, to demand accountability.
If no action is taken by Dec 22, we will escalate to a nationwide doctors’ strike.
This fight is for the dignity of the medical profession and the future of healthcare in Kenya. Stand with us!
President Ruto must be clinically ill to pay Ksh.500M just to host Grammy Awards when Kenya's medical interns and doctors are with neither basic tools for saving lives nor own welfare coverage. #RutoMustGo
Interns have not been paid for three months,
But @WilliamsRuto has Sh500M for Grammys
What will you do? You blog about it, get arrested
Go to the streets, get teargassed and killed
He has Opoda and Ichaweri, the rest tujidishi
12 days to go for #NationalStrike: 7 days to go for the #NairobiHospitalstrike. Speaking against being overworked, underpaid, denied study leave and career progression, doctors at Nairobi Hospital demand the IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION of the Chairman, Board of Directors, and CEO...
Intern Doctors haven't been paid & some committing suicide...Kenyan Police in Haiti haven't been paid, SHI/SHA is a disaster lakini we have paid 500 Million to host the Grammys??? @RecordingAcad 😅 🇰🇪 #OccupyGrammys
The doctors' salary was just fine before this government saw it wise to scrap all allowances without which no doctor would practice.
Who do I attend to without the risk allowance?.
Politics aside,
