Gm Frens,
I am Abdullah Olasupo, a graphic designer and an aspiring product designer who strike balance between aesthetics and a great experience by putting the business at the center of this all.
I believe Inspiration occurs spontaneously, without intention.
Let's connect 😍
In June, a photograph went round Nigerian social media. It showed armed men returning the body of a kidnapped general to his family in Katsina, then walking away unchallenged. A former senator posted it with the caption "What a country???"
FactCheckAfrica's reviewers checked and found that the image was AI-generated.
BBYDI and @FactC_Africa are recruiting 100+ Digital Democracy Champions to do that kind of checking in their own LGAs, from August through to the 2027 elections.
Training is two to three days in August, all virtual. After that, Champions give four to six hours a month through January, including one community fact-checking session, and verified incident reports to EVIT.
There's a token stipend to support the work, and everyone who finishes gets certified by BBYDI and FactCheckAfrica.
Apply if you teach, run a school, work or volunteer for a CSO, report for a newsroom or community radio station, or lead a student union or youth group. Ages 18–35. Priority goes to Lagos, Rivers, Abia, Kano, Borno and Kwara, but every state and the FCT is welcome. Women, girls and persons with disabilities are particularly encouraged.
Champions sign a Code of Conduct, and it's enforced. The programme is non-partisan.

Today, the world celebrates social media.
But for every milestone, there's a child somewhere online who needs us paying closer attention.
The same platforms that connect us can expose our children to people and content they're not ready for.

We’re excited to introduce Taste Labs.
Our mission is to end AI slop. We’re building the data and infrastructure layer to give AI models and agents taste.
And today we’re coming out of stealth, announcing our $18.5M seed funding, co-led by @CRV and @AmplifyPartners
AI has nailed objective domains and made it easy to generate anything. But it still feels off. Now, the challenge is judgement. What fits, what feels like you, what’s GREAT. This requires turning a fuzzy, subjective domain into something we can measure and codify. We’re starting with design.
There are two sides to cracking this, the foundation model layer and the agent layer:
- We’ve already been working with the top frontier labs to evaluate and improve their models, crafting the right post-training data and RL environments.
- We’ve also been working with app-layer companies to build the context and verification tools for their agents to produce better, more on-brand, more creative outputs.
We want a future where AI feels right.
If you’re passionate about this mission, join us!
Last week Thursday, I had the opportunity to facilitate a #Soft Skills session for the Women in AI 2026 Fellows, organized by @Webfalainitiat1 .
The session focused on #Email Etiquette and Professional #Communication. https://t.co/fe1wVgVxYV
The energy is already building at the International Women’s Day Training 2026 hosted by Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative.
Our first speaker, Imatabahi Etuk, founder of The Mannaja Way, has taken the stage and is already dropping powerful insights on branding, storytelling, and the role of technology in shaping modern businesses.
She reminded participants that strong brands are built on clarity, meaning, and intentional storytelling because people can copy ideas, but they cannot copy your experience or the story behind your brand.
One powerful point she emphasised: first impressions are never neutral, and businesses must be intentional about how they show up and communicate.
She also reiterated that the notion that AI is not meant for small businesses is a lie. AI is meant for all businesses. When used intentionally, it can amplify your brand, sharpen your message, and even save valuable time.
The conversations have just begun, and the room is already buzzing with ideas.
