Today, Mogadishu is hosting a major military graduation ceremony for officers who are expected to play a vital role in the development of the Somali National Army.
The event is being attended by the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces and the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheik Mohamud.
The graduating class includes officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and specialized drone warfare and technical units.
The presence of Turkey’s most senior military leadership from TURKSOM at this ceremony highlights the strategic importance of this graduation and underscores Turkey's commitment to strengthening Somalia’s armed forces.
Only 15 years ago, Somalia was known as a land of militias and warlords. Today, it has one of Africa's most modern and professional armed forces. This transformation stands as a powerful example of resilience, reform, and national determination.
The training, mentorship, and defense cooperation provided by the Turkish Armed Forces have played a significant role in strengthening the capabilities and professionalism of Somalia's military, making the partnership between the two nations a model of long-term security cooperation.
Every Somali should take pride in this achievement. Somalia's story of rebuilding should serve as a source of hope and inspiration not only for its own people, but for all of Africa.
The largest graduating class of Somali military officers completed their training today at the TURKSOM Military Academy in Mogadishu, marking another milestone in the development of the Somali National Army.
The graduation highlights Turkey's leading role in rebuilding and modernizing Somalia's armed forces through military training, education, and long term defense cooperation.
Since the establishment of the TURKSOM Military Academy, Ankara has trained thousands of Somali soldiers and officers, making Turkey one of Somalia's most significant security partners.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan:
There is no reason to have an open conflict between Türkiye and Israel.
There are still very sane and good people with wisdom and a strategic mind in Israel. Not all of them are like Netanyahu and his people.
But Netanyahu and some people, as they get closer to the elections, need an enemy.
After they wage war on Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, they need another enemy to get somebody to pity them.
They are trying to do that with Türkiye.

100 YILLIK BİR ÜLKE DEĞİL,
1000 YILLIK NİZAM-I ÂLEM FİKRİNE SAHİP BÜYÜK BİR ÜLKE!
