To all those asking about starting Ramadhaan on Wednesday or Thursday (this year, 1447) in various lands:

In general: Fast on the day your Muslim community begins their fast. (Stop reading here if this is sufficient for you.)

If there are people from Ahlus-Sunnah who are going by a local sighting, and they did not have any confirmed local sighting, and thus they complete 30 days of Sha'baan and begin on Thursday, then fast with them.

The Prophet (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace) said:

صومكم يوم تصومون
"Your fast is the [first] day when you are all fasting." (at-Tirmithee, authentic)

Whoever disregards moon sighting and sets the date for the beginning of Ramadhaan without regard for when then moon will be sighted, then disregard them. There is no consideration given to them, as Shaykh Ibn Baaz stated (may Allah have Mercy on him), due to their opposition of the Book, the Sunnah, and scholarly consensus.

If your local Muslim community has begun fasting on Wednesday, whether that is based on a local sighting or a global sighting, then begin your fast with them.

If your local Muslim community differs (in non-Muslim lands), and some of them begin on Wednesday and others on Thursday, then I would advise: That you begin on Wednesday, since multiple Muslim countries have announced verified moon sightings, and this is the Sunnah - to begin fasting when at least one reliable witness sights the moon.

Understand: The issue of global sighting vs. local sighting is legitimate and understandable differing among the scholars. Both positions have a basis in evidence and angles to be understood. Ignoring sighting altogether and relying on calculations is not part of that scholarly differing, thus no consideration is given to it or those who call to unity based on it. It is rejected deviation, and it has disgusting ramifications, like:

Blanket accusations against all Muslim witnesses, calling them all liars or delusional, without evidence or investigation.

Ruling upon the fast of millions of Muslims, that it is invalid, without evidence.

Or the opposite: Insisting on fasting early, whether or not the moon is sighted. This is blatant disregard and disobedience of the Messenger of Allah who expressly forbade fasting unless the moon is sighted or thirty days of Sah'baan is completed. (al-Bukhari & Muslim)

Putting the flawed efforts of fallible scientists in front of texts of revelation, accepting and rejecting religious texts based on human opinions, upon the way of the deviant Mu'tazilah cult.
