This disturbing video documents yesterday’s attack on Riyadh Airport in Saudi Arabia, unfortunately some of the victims were Umrah pilgrims at the airport.

The targeting of civilians and innocent travellers, particularly pilgrims undertaking a sacred religious journey, is utterly reprehensible and deserves the strongest possible condemnation.

Such acts of violence have no justification whatsoever.

Despite the incessant targeting and a region engulfed by conflict, Saudi Arabia continues to stand as a bastion of safety and stability.

There is something distinctly Saudi about the determination to carry on with life as normal, regardless of the circumstances.

People go about their daily lives, businesses operate, and the Kingdom continues to welcome the world. There is no sense of a country allowing threats or intimidation to dictate its way of life.

Much of this confidence stems from the trust Saudis place in their leadership, armed forces, and security services, knowing they are fully capable of countering these threats, safeguarding the Kingdom, and ensuring that those responsible face the consequences of their actions.

International conferences, exhibitions, sporting events, and major gatherings continue to take place across the Kingdom.

Among them is the 25th WPC Energy Congress, which begins today in Riyadh, bringing together leaders, policymakers, and industry experts from across the global energy sector to discuss some of the most pressing challenges facing the industry.

And that is perhaps the most important point…

At a time when much of the region is preoccupied with conflict and uncertainty, Saudi Arabia remains firmly focused on development, investment, and the future.

The threats are taken seriously, but they will not be allowed to bring this nation to a standstill.

These are pilgrims queuing for a flight, on their way to perform Umrah in Makkah.

Moments later, a Houthi missile strikes King Khalid International Airport, killing 12 civilians and injuring hundreds more.

This is the same militia whose missiles have repeatedly been intercepted near Makkah.

The sheer audacity of these barbarians to then lecture the Muslim world about Islam, and the supposed defence of Muslims, is beyond contempt.

What sort of depraved hypocrites murder Muslims on their way to worship, then have the nerve to claim they are defending Islam?

They kill civilians, then invoke religion to justify their crimes. There is nothing Islamic about any of it.

Spare us the hollow slogans about “resistance”, this is terrorism, plain and simple.

Do not be surprised if the response is unrelenting.
