Your brain deletes most of your ordinary days. It keeps almost every minute of a night alone in a foreign city. What's happening there is actually one of the more beautiful things about how your nervous system works.
Your brain is a prediction machine. When it can predict everything, like your commute, your kitchen, your same six streets, it stops recording. That's why whole months at home just vanish. But put yourself somewhere it can't predict anything and the system flips. Every sign, every smell, every crosswalk registers as new information. Dopamine tags all of it as worth keeping. This is why one week abroad feels longer in memory than a month at home. Your brain literally kept more of it.
The second thing happening is quieter. At home, some part of you is always tracking how you're being perceived. Your boss, your friends, the people who knew you at 22. In a city where nobody knows your name, that entire system goes offline.
And when it goes offline, the bandwidth doesn't disappear. It gets redirected inward.
That's the "realizing how far you've come" part. Your brain is finally recording again, the self-monitoring is off, and you're far enough away from your life to see the whole shape of it at once.
You spend years too close to your own life to see it. Then one night you're crossing a street on the other side of the world, and you finally have enough distance to look.
If playing a character makes you do better in life, then play a character. Who gives a fk. Its a cheat code.
Stop thinking you’re introvert etc. Think of yourself as James bond and see things change.
“A step in the wrong direction is better than staying on the spot all our life. Once you’re moving forward you can correct your course as you go. Your automatic guidance system cannot guide you when you’re standing still.”
- Maxwell Maltz
When you reveal the inner workings of your creation, you become just one more mortal among others.
What is understandable is not awe-inspiring — we tell ourselves we could do as well if we had the money and time.
Failure feels heavy until you get one big win.
Then you stop giving a fuck about how many times you failed.
Say you send 200 emails and all of them get ignored.
On the 201st, you land a $3,000/month retainer.
Who gives a fuck about the 200 people who ignored you?
Its insane how good these algorithms.
I stopped scrolling insta years ago.
Sometimes I would download for some chats as everyone these days is on insta.
And I would always catch myself scrolling at some point and then deleting again.
When you’re young, you wanna have lots of friends.
Its only when you grow up and realize how lucky it is to just have 1 real friend.
Someone who will go to war with you.
Loyalty has no price.
Without loyalty, people aren’t worth shit.
Action always wins.
You can't go gym regularly and not be in great shape. You can't be making a lot of content, sending lots of emails and not make any money.
This is why I don't understand people who say they tried to make money but couldn't. You're either stupid or just lazy.
All entertainment is just distraction from the real world.
Which also explains why people are so indulged in it.
Most people don’t want to face reality. They don’t want to know the truth.
Few are brave enough to face the truth and do something about it.
@SusanPolgar It was a Fischer game where Fischer played Bg2 few moves prior that led to this mating pattern. Black was also very close to promotion in that game.
Mate is of course Qxh7 Kxh7 hxg6+ Kxg6 Bxe4#
Balance is the biggest lie sold to losers.
“You should balance everything.”
It’s not true.
You will never find a very successful man with a balanced life.
Even if you find someone, it’s when their grind period is over.
If you’re not rich, work endless hours. Forget balance.
Last time I posted a tweet was March…..
Time flies.
This year has been nothing less than a roller coaster.
Lots of ups and downs.
I did good but not any better than how I was doing in March or last year.
Can easily cope out but fuck excuses.
Pushing harder than ever.
