Earlier today, I met with members of the Kano Business Community, in view of the rising cost of living and economic crisis.
In my remark, I lamented how prices of commodities are skyrocketing at the expense of the common man. Civil servants and small-scale business owners are finding it hard to feed.
As part of measures to tackle this crisis at our level, I announced that we have made plans to distribute foodstuff to all the 484 wards in Kano State.
We are also collaborating with the business community to chart ways of bringing down prices of commodities that would be affordable to common citizens in the state, especially as the Ramadan fasting season is fast approaching.
I also promised to meet President Bola Tinubu to report to him the situation, for his intervention. - AKY

A love letter to the city that forever stays!
Oh, Kano, ancient and wise,
Where culture dances beneath the skies.
In the shadows of ancient walls so tall,
Where history weaves its golden chain.
The Emir's palace, a regal sight,
A testament to Kano's royal might.
In every courtyard, every stone,
A legacy of a kingdom firmly sewn.
In the shadow of the ancient Emir’s abode,
A legacy of kings in history’s code.
Royal echoes in the ancient halls,
Where culture thrives, and wisdom calls.
From the echoes of Gidan Makama's gate,
To the marketplaces alive with vibrant hues.
Kano, a symphony of history and grace,
A timeless journey, a sacred space.
Oh, Kano, where the past meets today,
In your streets, history finds its way.
A heritage rich, a culture rare,
In every stone, a story to share.
Your Habe, your Fulani, a united throng,
In Kano's heartbeat, they all belong.
Through the dust of centuries, you endure,
A city of tales, timeless and pure.
Kano, in your name, a saga is spun,
A city where history and future are one.
In the twilight of your ancient song,
Kano, you stand, eternally strong.
Dedicated to all proud Kanawa!
