I started responding to false allegations against Islām online around the age of 13/14, over the next few years into my teens I began to seriously study Islām & proceeded to give talks on Islām, do interfaith debates, feature on TV, attend conferences, etc.

Then I got sick at 20.

Hospitals, surgeries, it all became a blur.

It just so happened that at the same time I first ended up in the hospital I was reading Martin Lings's Sīrah of the Prophet ﷺ.

It also just happened that I was reading about ʿĀm al Ḥuzn (the year of sadness), in which the wife & uncle of the Prophet ﷺ both died.

I was in physical pain, brutal pain, constant pain. Permanent pain that has withered me away.

I asked myself, the pain of loss that the Prophet ﷺ experienced, after being an orphan, and then in his year of sadness, why didn't they break him? Many people never recover from the passing of a loved one, what then can we say about a man who has known nothing but perpetually significant losses?

He acknowledged his losses, mourned as he needed to, & yet he ﷺ was still loving, kind, caring, & charitable. It's as if he lived life with certainty and confidence about what was to come next. A reliance, if you will, on His Lord, which gave him hope, meaning, & purpose.

Though I sit here in pain, still withering away, I can only call others to the hope of Muhammad ﷺ, the truth of Islām.

#Uyghur Muslim Sent To Concentration Camp Because He Performed #Hajj

76-year-old Uyghur Muslim, Mehmet Ismayil, was sent to a concentration camp because he performed Hajj.

Mehmet Ismayil wrote a letter (forced) to his family from inside a camp:

"Because of my lack of awareness of the law, I had gone on a pilgrimage to #Mecca. I am very grateful for the forgiveness the Party (Chinese Communist Party) has shown me."

He was detained in 2017, released in 2019. He's now under house/town arrest, with movements restricted.
