There are exactly 150 days left in 2026.
That’s a lot of time.
Stop complaining about how the year has gone so far.
You can build the year you want in the next 150 days.
What will you create?
a trader with a 90% win rate can go broke and a trader who's wrong most days can get rich. and until that sentence stops sounding fake to you, you shouldn't be risking real money.
because nobody tells beginners this. the game is not about being right. it never was.
your mate wins 9 trades out of 10. makes 20 bucks each time. feels like a genius, screenshots everything. tenth trade he's down 400 because he couldn't admit he was wrong and held. nine wins, one loss, account's gone backwards. he's a winner by every scoreboard except the only one that pays.
meanwhile some quiet bloke is wrong six days out of ten. loses small, loses small, loses small, then catches one move and makes his month. his instagram looks like a graveyard. his account only goes up.
the market pays for one skill. how you lose. that's it. everyone's obsessed with entries and nobody wants to talk about the only column that decides everything.
being right is a hobby.
losing properly is the profession.
years ago deleted my metatrader app on a tuesday once. downloaded it again by friday.
told myself i was taking a break from trading. lasted 72 hours. and it wasn't even the trading i missed. it was the checking.
checked it at red lights. checked it in the toilet at work. checked it mid conversation with people i love, phone under the table like a teenager. wake up at 3am, roll over, check. not to do anything. just to look.
at some point it stopped being a trading account and became a mood ring. green, i was sound all day. red, and i'm snapping at people who've done nothing wrong and can't even tell them why.
my lady at the time knew my p&l before i said a word. said she could tell by how i closed the fridge.
that's the bit nobody really warns you about with this game. the money you can lose has a limit. the headspace it can take has none, if you let it.
took me years to sort it and the fix was embarrassingly simple. check at open, check at close, alerts do the rest. that's it. the market didn't miss me in between. it doesn't know i exist.
anyway. if you checked your phone while reading this, that's the tweet.
I earned $120K a year working for Shell in 2012.
Ten years and multiple promotions later, in 2022, that figure has doubled to $240K a year.
In 2023, I stumbled on an internal, confidential, document that showed the salaries of my superiors.
I saw that even if I were promoted multiple times again, the best I could hope for in another 10 years was another doubling to around $480K a year.
This may sound crazy saying it out loud but that wasn’t cutting it for me.
I simply didn’t want the next 10 years to be a repeat of the last 10.
I wanted geometric progression, not an arithmetic one.
On my 40th birthday, in 2023, I was asked to make a wish as a blew the candles on my birthday cake.
“Get the hell out of Shell,” I quietly whispered. Months later, I was out.
In 2024, my businesses grossed $500K; in 2025, they did $1M - geometric progression.
It required me to be delusional about my abilities, to bank on the faithfulness of God and to trust that inner voice that always nag at me that I could be more, I could do more and I could have more.
Dear Anonymous,
I spent my entire university life at ABU Zaria hitting back to back first class GPA for 6 semesters in Political Science. My very first GPA was 4.79/5.00 which was the overall best in the whole faculty of social science consisting of over 600 students. I maintained it for almost my entire university life.
Unfortunately, In the first semester of my final year, my CGPA dropped to 4.47 exactly like you, with just one semester to go (see my pinnned tweet). I needed a 5.00 GPA in the final semester including research project to achieve my dream of graduating with a first class and breaking the record in a program that no one believed first class was possible. I was stuck between giving up to avoid last minute heartbreak or try to break a longstanding record as first class in political science was impossible for over 40years and hitting 5.00 CGPA in final semester was something students used to say only God could achieve. The two final year courses were enough hell, but I also needed ‘A’ in research project which further complicated things. Hundreds have tried, Hundreds have failed. People used to mock me in the library saying “haba scholar, in the end it’s just second class upper” just like those who tried before me.
However, I remained focused and locked in with hardwork and prayers. I had to travel twice to my village, stayed for weeks without electricity just to get data for my final year project. I stayed back in school during first semester holiday while everyone else went home to their families. During the dark days of no light on campus, I used ABU streetlights to study outside. Sometimes, I entered the bush behind the hostel to sit around trees to study during exams when libraries got overcrowded (until snake killed one old woman). Those who were close to me said I was going crazy and nicknamed me “books”.
Today, I am proud to tell you that I have a record breaking first class degree from ABU which has changed my life forever. I featured in several newspapers & blogs for achieving the impossible, bagged a fully funded EU scholarship which resulted in me bagging two more first class degrees from the UK & Netherlands and currently working as the only black Analyst in my team at a silicon valley tech giant with a less than 1% global job acceptance rate.
All these dreams were possible because I didn’t give up
I didn’t listen to people
I worked hard and prayed and the almighty lifted me in his blessings.
I hope my story motivates you and others like you who are considering giving up.
And if you see this, please send me a DM I would like to know & support you personally.
I think there should be some evaluation by the university committee on results above 4.35-4.49 because sometimes it’s not students faults, it’s just some lecturers weaponed fashioned against good students.

"Whether it's a machine, a house, or a relationship. Maintenance is always cheaper than repairing." What you don't maintain, you eventually lose.
