A good reminder for those of you leading teams (or aspiring to).
At @appsembler, we have a company vacation policy that mandates preparation time in advance to coordinate handoffs and owners, and then people *disconnect*.

JS thought leadership wants you to render on the server, but it cannot possibly be a Node app responding with HTML. It must involve a custom compiler, a new RPC protocol and a cloud service. Nothing less will do.
Elon says "We will have to do a total rewrite to gain velocity" and immediately @igb is says "tell me what's so crazy about the stack; just describe it and how rewriting will gain you velocity"
You will be surprised to know he did not respond.
@jamessocol Ha! I remember well having a great chat with you on a bus on the way to either PyCon or DjangoCon. Clearly I remember the conversation but not the convention.
This is very late 90's / early 2000's, but I'm planning to ramp up blogging instead. Let's respond to each other with longer-form posts that take time and thought...

Having seen the surreptitious way NY collects DNA of children as young as 12 and puts it in a DNA database, I can guarantee you Texas is not collecting this DNA to identify victims of school shootings, but rather to prosecute and incarcerate children and their family members.
PSA FROM YOUR FRIENDLY PUBLIC DEFENDER: DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR CHILDREN’S DNA TO A DATABASE!
For that matter, this applies to everyone: DO NOT EVER VOLUNTARILY GIVE A DNA SAMPLE.
In what will likely reduce the number of Meta recruiter calls and emails I get, I wrote this post about how I’ve disengaged from Facebook and Instagram, and why: https://t.co/PRBMANL1fD
Last year, I resuscitated my blog. I haven’t yet ported over older pieces, so the list of posts is short.
My pace of posting has been anemic, mainly because I’m getting in my own way.
Today, I decided to address that: https://t.co/Mkdtr5BPUD
