Recent revelations have uncovered that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been channeling taxpayer dollars into numerous questionable projects worldwide, particularly those centered on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Alarmingly, a significant portion of this funding has not reached the intended beneficiaries but has instead lined the pockets of those managing these initiatives.

For instance, USAID allocated $1.5 million to promote DEI in Serbia's workplaces and business communities. Additionally, $70,000 was spent on producing a DEI-themed musical in Ireland. These expenditures raise serious concerns about the agency's spending priorities and oversight.

Moreover, reports indicate that USAID employees attempted to conceal materials, such as Pride flags and certain books, during internal reviews by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This behavior suggests a lack of transparency and accountability within the agency.

Adding to the controversy, USAID has been implicated in funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Through grants to EcoHealth Alliance, a nonprofit organization, USAID indirectly supported research at the Wuhan lab, which is suspected of conducting risky experiments that may have contributed to the COVID-19 pandemic. This connection raises serious concerns about the agency's oversight and the potential misuse of taxpayer funds.
